The chips are fried separately so safe for celiac. Had the shrimp brochette and queso no problems . Staff was very helpful. They served my meal with.out the rice since it was not gf substituted salad. Very good dinner.

This review is for the Mi Cocina that just opened at the Star in Frisco, TX. Can’t find their page, probably because it’s so new.
I had the chips and salsa and a margarita and have been dealing with joint pain, inflammation, brain fog and irritability all week since having them. I’m talking wrists hurting so bad I couldn’t pick up my phone and after running every day the week before, it’s hard to stand for too long. Judging from the other comments. It had to be the chips. I am gluten intolerant. Normally I’m fine with corn chips at other places despite cross contamination but these got me good.

I have been gluten free for a year and a half after learning I had Celiac and I warn you not to eat here. I had the GF brisket tacos and I got terribly sick - chills, body aches, digestive problems, all within three hours of eating here. I’ll never go to a Mi Cocina again unfortunately. Not worth the risk!

Updated review - We love this place, it has a delicious Gf menu. BUT recently the GF queso started testing positive for gluten (with our Nima sensor) - in the past it never did. Im not sure if this change has to do with the kitchen, or their supplier. We talked to the manager about this, and he told us they don’t guarantee the meal is actually gluten free, just gluten friendly. We are bummed since our celiac son loves eating here, but after so many positive tests, we have to take this one off our list of go-to’s :(
Order from here all the time and they are great and never get sick. Can’t have the chips but if you get it to go use your own chips for the queso.

Gluten free! With trained wait staff and manager! My celiac wife ordered nachos. The manager came out to say the regular "round" chips used for Nachos were not gluten free, but he was glad to make her Nachos with the regular gluten free chips! This is the type of gluten free support all restaurants should have. Thanks, Mico!
Yes
Chips are not gluten-free. Waiters are not properly trained. I was given conflicting information about the sauces. They are not careful. My husband and I both ordered the GF brisket tacos and one of us got GF and the other didn't. Not cool.

I’ve read on here that this restaurant has nothing GF…. Totally WRONG! Per Vicky the manager, all fajitas are GF, Chips, Salsa, Queso, nachos all GF. Rice is NOT GF but beans are. She was super helpful, obviously stay away from the things you know are not your friend

Honestly, the food was really just mid. I got the taco dinner and it was bland. Queso was bland. Even the chips! The margarita was alright. There’s just better Mexican food out there. Don’t waste your time here.

Terrible, claim to have no gluten free menu, didn’t have anything without gluten. We walked out.

Had the chips , salsa , guacamole, spinach enchiladas. The waitress confirmed the chips were only corn and no flour in the verde sauce . Guacamole was disappointing, just smashed avocado with red onion and no flavor. Enchiladas were served cold/Luke warm and most likely tasty if hot . Salsa tasted like it came from a jar . Would not come here just because the food was subpar.
