Mikki's Cafe

You can't ask for more when Mikki, the owner, cook, waitress comes out immediately to discuss what you can and cannot have if you are gluten sensitive or Celiac. AND, then cooks what you want. She makes gluten free Belgian waffles and one pancake the size of a car tire...well almost!

I asked if she could make gf chicken and waffles. She made me chicken fried steak (2 pieces) and a big thick, hot waffle. YUM! She took away the regular syrup...she said, "No, you can't have that, it has gluten!"

It is not a place to find healthy food. They don't have gf bread. Kind of silly, they could freeze it and only use what they need.

It is out of the way...and not really known.

Cost is high, but, HEY split! 2 to 3 people can eat a pancake!!!

The staff was very knowledgeable about celiac. The owner came out to assure us about cleaning the grill and how she is understanding of cross contamination. My son had a pancake. Literally the size of his head, fruit and bacon. We would definitely come here again to eat!

Their food is the best. The pancakes are bigger than an adults face. Wide selection of foods for gluten free people . The staff is very nice. They care very much about celiac disease and are very cautious. Mikki came out and talked to us about her opinions right away.

It was all delicious!! My kids had the GF pancakes which where huge and fluffy. I had Mikki’s Special, and she made it gluten and dairy free for me. She made me GF country fried steak with eggs, onions and green peppers. It was so good!! Very friendly, great service, and awesome atmosphere. Family owned and operated.

It was outstanding - gluten free pancake was wonderful. It tasted more like a cake.

Sweet owners...husband and wife and they do it all! HUGE GF pancake that was fluffy, delicious and so filling! We will be coming here every trip

Amazing! I called prior to see if dairy free and gluten free pancakes was a option and it was! They used almond milk. Call ahead to make sure they have almond milk since she said they run out. It’s a from scratch kitchen and the owner is great! S

Omg these are the biggest, most delicious GF pancakes I have ever had I think. I’m still eating actually so I have no idea if I will have any type of reaction and will update this review if I do. But the food is delicious and the service is good. Also, I don’t believe there is an up charge for GF, so that’s another awesome first for me.

We visited here this morning. What a fantastic find!! We will come back every time we are close to Hilton Head. Absolutely the best gluten free pancakes and waffles we have ever had. Mikki came out to talk to us and discuss breakfast options with us. She takes great care preparing your food and enjoyed feeding you! You will not leave hungry or sick. I do have celiac’s.

I’m super sensitive along with my daughter. Had breakfast here two days in a row and it was fantastic. Mikki’s special was amazing! You tell her what you can’t eat and she surprises you. Tons of food and they even made us GF pancakes as surprise on day 2 with gf flour. Allow some time as they cook from scratch but SO WORTH THE WAIT!!! Great job creating everything gf!
