Mindy’s Bakery

Sadie at Mindy’s is SO kind! She was super knowledgeable when I called in advance and was able to tell me how all the gf items were prepared. She said there was no cross and she hadn’t heard of anyone experience a reaction from gluten. The molasses muffin is so good! Haven’t tried the gf bagel yet very hopeful!

When I went in all the gf pastries were touching the gluten options. Does not appear to be safe. I left without getting anything based on looks alone.

They were sold out of the GF bagels, but the GF fudge cheesecake muffin was delicious. Server changed her gloves when we told her my daughter had a gluten allergy. Came back for a second visit & the GF pastries were separated from the regular ones. We were also able to try the GF sesame bagel…my daughter was in heaven :)

Gluten free labeled pastries touching the gluten pastries. The gf bagels were in a separate area but out in the open next to a mixer they were actively prepping another dough. Overall lots of cross contamination and I left without getting anything.

This place is phenomenal! Their baked goods are super fresh, flavorful and baked to perfection. Since we were some what in a rush, we didn’t stay long, but when you walk in you see all of the current days items. To my surprise, they also had gluten free baked goods. Some of the best I’ve ever had. That’s saying a lot too. We tried the everything bagel with lox cream cheese and a pear creme-brûlée danish. The texture of the danish spot on with crunchy edges and tender in the middle. Moreover, the sweetness was not over powering. The bagel was a good size and had plenty of “everything” seasoning, including fennel, which was a nice touch. The staff members were friendly and nice. If you don’t live around here you can take the blue line to Damen and it’s super close to the stop, across from The Robey. Definitely give them a try, you’ll be glad you did.

The best GF bagel I’ve ever had! They also have a rotating selection of other GF baked goods. I’ve tried cookies, a brownie and a coffee cake and they have all been amazing!

Ever since hearing that Mindy’s Bakery offered *fresh* gluten free bagels, I’ve been wanting to check it out. And after trying today, it did not disappoint! They offered GF plain, sesame, and everything bagels, along with rotating flavors of GF muffins. I bought a hot fudge cheesecake muffin and a sesame bagel with chive pesto cream cheese. The bagel had an amazing taste, smell, and chewy texture, and the cream cheese was very flavorful. Don’t sleep on the hot chocolate - it’s delicious!
