This place blew me away. We sat close to the kitchen and I watched a lady whose only job was to hand press the homemade tortillas. They were SO good.

We tried the empanadas, 3 different kinds of taco, margaritas, and of course the churros.

Everything was so fresh and delicious. An amazing homemade meal in a fun and vibrant atmosphere.

This restaurant is a must.

To my knowledge, everything on the menu is gluten free! Their plantain empanadas are delicious. Their margaritas are tasty and pack a punch. Highly recommend if you’re gluten free and like tex mex!

Everything was sooo good. I would go back. I think there is only 1 item that wasn’t gf and it’s prepared separately from everything else. Empanadas, tostadas, and tacos were really amazing. Pork, chicken, and seafood were the best. Steak was a little too salty (still very good though).

I’ve eaten at this restaurant twice and have not been disappointed. The food is delicious and completely safe for people with Celiac disease, since all of the food on their menu is gluten free! The mahi-mahi tacos were so good, the margaritas were fantastic, and the corn and fresh guac were so yummy! It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Philadelphia.

100% celiac friendly! The only thing that contains gluten is burritos, which are not on the main dine-in menu. The tortillas are homemade and almost everything is made from scratch. I had the chicken tacos and esquites and both were very tasty. I will warn that everything comes garnished with cilantro and it doesn’t say that on the menu, so make sure to talk to you server if it tastes like toothpaste to you (like me). The only complaint I have is that the portions are very small for the price. $12 for two small tacos and no sides. However, the fact that this place is safe 100% makes up for it!

The food and drinks were great. Everything on the menu was GF, and there's no cross contamination concerns. We started with chips and salsa. We absolutely loved the Rojo salsa and the hazelnut and coconut salsa (though, texture was more similar to humus). The salsa Verde was fine, but watery. The chicken tacos and the pork tacos were excellent! We loved them. My only complaint is that we were quoted 30 minutes, but waited over 60 minutes. We had time and were able to grab seats at the bar, so we managed. Otherwise we enjoyed out time!

(taqueria at Riverwalk Giant).Tested a burrito bowl with Nima. Positive for gluten. For sensitive celiacs like me, beware. We did see that that cook seemed to switch from flour burrito to corn tortillas without switching gloves. Not sure about tongs. Mgr was knowledgeable and helpful, but staff need training. (Other GF food did test negative.)

Love this place! Everything except the burritos are gf- even the churros. We have gotten delivery a few times and everything is delicious. I am sitting in the restaurant, having just ordered a gluten free churro (!!!!) because EVERYTHING here is gluten free. The meal was absolutely incredible. I’m from San Diego and I don’t believe in Mexican food on the east coast, but this place proved me wrong. Do not sleep on the quesabirria quesadilla. It’s one of the best things I’ve eaten in a long time. But everything here is excellent.

Mission Taqueria has not always been 100% GF/celiac friendly. This is a new shift over the last few years and I am BLOWN away. The empanadas are filled with plantains and took me to some floaty happy place. The mahi mahi tacos are fried perfectly with the most balanced jalapeño Mayo slaw but the most incredible part of my meal last night was the fluffy tres leches cake, with the tangiest diced pineapple… the churros are amazing as well they come with chocolate and dulce dipping sauces. But you really can’t go wrong… all of the tacos and choices are on point!!!! And the staff are the best. Mezcal margarita for the win btw.

Pretty much everything on the menu is gluten free! We ordered chips and salsa and you get to choose three different kinds of salsa. The coconut salsa was different but tasty. The other two were delicious! The tacos were good. We loved the churros. The tres leches was ok. The atmosphere is fun a bit noisy but we enjoyed our food.
