Mitchell's Ice Cream

We asked for an "allergy scoop" for a known food allergy (celiac). We were given a binder to review ingredients. The server went to the back to grab a new scooper and scooped directly from a new container. My son had no reaction.

Mitchell’s is NOT gluten free. It explicitly says on their website and on their products that there is cross contamination in the production of their products. I tried it once anyway, with painful results.

Delicious! I prefer eating dairy-free ice cream, and they had some good options! They immediately pulled out an allergy binder and had me look through the flavors and toppings. They grabbed an “allergy scoop” and made sure that everything was safe.

They can do an "allergy scoop" where they get a clean scooper and scoop from a fresh bucket. Lots of gluten free flavors and they have a binder with all of the ingredients listed. Great ice cream.

They have a book you can look in that lists which flavors are gluten free. When we picked a flavor the staff asked if they scoop from the open container, or if they should get a new one from the back (!) - I was super impressed. Ice cream is FABULOUS! Staff were great.

As someone with a severe gluten intolerance, Mitchell’s has never steered me wrong. Not all of their flavors are safe, but if you ask they will point you to the gluten free ones. If you have celiac disease, have them make sure they use a clean scooper and change gloves.

Celiac friendly?

They have a binder with a list of what flavors are gluten free. I asked for an “Allergy Scoop” and they sanitized the scooper and scooped from the unopened container. The ice cream is so thick, it’s divine. I got a scoop of mint chocolate chunk and a scoop of chocolate chocolate chunk. I couldn’t finish it because it was so rich but I really enjoyed it.

The girl scooping my ice cream was super nice when I mentioned my allergy even with a line behind me. Scooped out of a fresh container of ice cream that was still sealed after going in the back to sanitize the scoop! Amazing experience!

The bing chocolate cherry is so good! My husband loves the pistachio. We also buy pints at local grocery stores.
