It was okay, food was gluten free and I had no issues with eating, but taste was sub par. Menu items are marked, our waiter was not super knowledgeable (might have been new), but he was happy to ask kitchen staff and get clarifications.

The waitress was knowledgeable and helpful when we were trying to pick out gf food for our daughter ( Celiac) on the kids menu ( grilled chicken and mash potatoes). They do not have a gf fryer. We requested that her food be cooked in a separate pan, which they were happy to do. Someone from the kitchen brought out her meal and identified it as the celiac safe dish. The only small hick up was at the end of the meal when the waitress brought out packaged Oreos for my daughter. Luckily my daughter new they were not safe and did not try to eat them. Overall we were very happy with our experience and will be back.

Good variety of gluten-free options - Salads, Pizza crust, burger buns & wraps, and BBQ entrees. Server was very knowledgeable and able to make recommendations. The food was excellent!

Had a great meal here! Lots of GF sides options, bbq, sandwiches (no separate fryer for fries fyi). The chicken portobello sandwich on GF bread was delicious. Waitstaff very knowledgeable about cc. Definitely recommend for other celiacs!!

Very limited options, but tasty. I had the barbacoa bowl with grilled chicken. I had no symptoms of being CC or glutened. Was not my favorite place that I've ever been to but it was okay.

We ate at the bar and the bartender went to double check for me that the GF pizza was also DF. I had the Thai pizza which is already dairy free and I just had to substitute the GF crust. It was one of the best GF crusts that I’ve had. They also had Glutenberg IPA.

We went based on previous reviews but were not overly impressed. The menu is marked GF, but I was not confident with our servers responses we we asked about cross contamination risks for some items.

Staff was knowledgeable. Probably one of the best GF pizza in the valley. Flavorful and fresh spinach salad. The BBQ is also GF but not noted on the menu. Will return for sure

They have a good chunk of the menu available gluten free. Everything is clearly marked and the server was able to answer all of my questions. I got the pulled pork, the pork itself was ok. The garlic mashed potatoes were so delicious!

Second time visiting this restaurant in 6 weeks, and I can't wait to visit again. The waitress seemed knowledgeable, and checked to confirm which hard cider/beverage i could enjoy. Food is tasty and the ribs are meaty. The garlic mashed potatoes are delicious and the cole slaw is not mayo-based!

Got the half maple mustard chicken. It was sooo good. Lots of gluten free options! They even have gluten free pizza and buns.
They have Glutenburg beer and ciders available. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. The pulled chicken bowl was delicious.

Kudos to Sherri, our bar tender was really knowledgeable. She has family with celiac. The gf menu is a little confusing. It seems like there are only salads on it, but Sherri explained the other options available. I had a Cesar salad without croutons, the smoked brisket, which was amazing, and some garlic mashed potatoes. My non-gf husband loved the beer selection and his entree. We'll be back!
Very disappointed. Our waitress was no where to be found for most of the night. As soon as we were seated I asked our waitress for a gf menu and I never received it. After 15 min I went up to the hostess myself to get one. After alerting her of my needs as a celiac, I saw her write down my order with no indication that it needed to be prepared gluten free or that extra precautions needed to be taken. When I spoke up about it her reply “well this is gf anyways so its fine”. Here I am 4 hours later very I’ll. Will not return.
Literally appalled by the service and pure and blatant disregard for celiac disease. After requesting a gluten free menu, alerting the server of my allergy when I ordered, and checking with TWO people when it was delivered to the table I was alerted 5 minutes into the meal that they had made a mistake and it wasn’t gluten free. Safe to say after an hour wait for a table and an hour wait for food I had already ate quite a bit of food. The server clearly had no knowledge and did not understand the severity of the issue. He regarded it at a “substitution” and explained that it was difficult to handle such requests and they can’t guarantee anything. I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager that day but after telling the hostess of the issue a manager came to my table immediately after. Then, to make matters worse the manager told me that the mistake was because what I had ordered was not on the gluten free menu. I then had to request a copy of the menu and showed him that it was. They promised retraining for that server but I am appalled that anyone at an establishment that says that they can provide a safe meal those with celiac has anyone as untrained as anyone on the staff I came in contact with there is no way that it is just one waiter. Astonished is an understatement and I highly recommend never eating here - frankly it should be removed from find me gluten free all together. Would give zero stars if I could.
No
Three stars mostly for putting their gf menu online, unlike many nearby restaurants. Allergy was taken seriously. That said, in our party of 6, nobody (gf or otherwise) was impressed by the food. "Mediocre," "so-so," and "kind of flavorless" were the reactions.
Yes
Staff was very helpful ran back into the kitchen several times to check on things for me - all with a smile! Since I have both a dairy allergy and celiac so it’s complicated for sure. Only issue was Spanish rice was very bland. No reaction at all !!
Yes
Had the GF BLT pizza. Incredible!!
The gluten free menu is deceiving, it seems like the options are very limited but they have gf buns and pizza crust so you can have most sandwiches and pizzas as well. My husband got a pastrami sandwich and the waitress brought out the ingredient list for the aioli sauce to confirm it was ok. Staff was great and food was delicious!!
I don't understand why this is even listed on this website, it shouldn't be. Their GF menu is very small and very few items are pescetarian or vegetarian and also GF. They used to have smoked salmon that was AMAZING but they no longer have it. They have so many items that could be made GF (chowder, corn chips, etc.) but they simply choose not to. If they don't want to put in the effort to serve those of us with dietary issues, we won't put up with the incredibly long wait.
No
Small menu, but it was delicious. The food was well thought out.
Small GF menu, decent food.
So, so good! The burger that the other reviews referred to - was amazing!!! They have GF buns. I didn't get it and I didn't miss it! All of their BBQ food (ribs, brisket) is GF BUT - have to tell them to serve it without the Texas toast. Waitress very knowledgeable. I asked if the nachos were gluten free - she said they are not safe for celiacs because the chips are fried. Small GF menu (but ask - other things are GF that are not on the menu). Regular menu is extensive. A must do!!!!
Yes
Small gf menu, but staff knowledgeable on cross-contamination & gluten-containing foods, and food was good. So a safe bet to eat here.
Yes
Knowledgable staff, awesome environment, just not a lot of GF choices. Nothing for GF kids.
Very helpful waiter to make sure I could have their Sangria! Burger over mashed potatoes was out of this world tasty!! You didn't even need the bun. Would go back again. No reactions at all.
Always loved Moat before becoming GF, living 3+ hours away it is always a must do when we are in town every year. Was delighted to see a GF menu, seven items with everything from salad to steaks and then you can add a GF bun or crust to any sandwich or pizza. The burger was incredible.
I was skeptical after seeing the size of the menu. Very small.... But the waitress was knowledgable & even went to double check (since I was recently glutened I needed to be sure). I'm glad I came here. The bun-less burger was the best burger I've ever had.... In my entire life. Topped w roasted tomatoes & balsamic reduction. Wow. And the best part? No reaction!
Yes
They have a small gluten free menu but will also adapt items on the regular menu to accommodate you. The waitress was very aware off cross contamination and what was in each of the dishes. She was a great help. For example, their nacho chips are fried in house but in a fryer that's use for breaded items. They have gluten free beer. Also had some vegan options.
Yes
The burger from the gfree menu was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Bun less, served over garlic mashed. And they have Glutenberg beer!
Knowledgable staff looked up ingredients of their hot dogs for my daughter with celiac. Agree with others that the gluten free menu was small (they should add the hot dog!) but overall quality was good. Chipotle caesar salad was delicious. We would go back.
The GF menu wasn't large, but the balsamic chicken topped with Gouda was so good I'm going to have to try and make it at home! The green beans were seriously fresh from the garden and they get all their produce and products from local farms and vendors, how nice! They also have Gluten Free beer which my friend tried, perfect for when you just want a beer like everyone else, I'd say. The Gluten Free meals were brought out separately. And neither my friend nor I had a problem, even though the rest of our families ordered off the regular menus. Thank you Moat's for a great dinner. Also, the restaurant is loud so it's great if you have kids or are a boisterous group. You don't need to worry about being quiet. Also, our waitress, was laid back, easy going and very nice!
loved the gf burger with potato! will go back next time I'm in NH!
Limited GF menu however what they do have was amazing, my son got the flank steak with rice and green. My daughter got the chicken Caesar salad with a side of garlic mashed. Both kids were more than thrilled. We enjoyed the regular menu as well. Staff was helpful and what they didn't know they were quick to ask for you.
This was one of my favorite places in this area before my diagnosis, and I was elated to find that I can still safely eat there with a good selection! The menu seems limited, but still better than most, but the wait staff was knowledgable and many additional items can be tweaked to be safe. The smoked meat with no BBQ is always a delicious option!
Great GF menu lots of options. Chef is well informed. Great food at a great price.....
Limited GF menu, but the food is delicious and the staff friendly and conscientious.
