Modern Bread and Bagel

As a resident of Santa Monica, I am so happy Modern Bread & Bagel opened on the west side. It’s totally GF and everything I had is delicious. It’s so awesome to be able to get GF challah. They have specials every month. It’s just nice to be able to get a bagel and cream cheese whenever I want!

Amazing 100% gf bakery. Bagels are the best gf bagels I’ve ever had. Such a treat to have a delicious gf everything bagel with a huge smear of cream cheese, tomato, onion and smoked salmon.

AMAZING!! My non gluten free friends said they couldn’t taste a difference. Best coffee I have ever had too! Cookie was amazing and chewy. Zucchini bread was moist and amazing. I would avoid the rugelach.

Amazing bagels, breakfast sandwiches, cakes, cookies and treats. Everything is GF and delicious!! I've eaten at the one on Santa Monica, Woodland Hills and in NYC. I cant say enough good things about their food. We've tried several of the egg, bagel sandwiches and they are YUMMY!!

The best bagel of my gluten free life-- same density and texture as the "real" bagels I remember from bc (before celiac), easy contactless ordering and pick up, and friendly staff when you want or need the contact. The sticker price of $3.25 per bagel was shocking and disappointing, but in the end I paid it (6x over) because, well, best bagel ever!

Yummy bagels, java & sweet treats! I enjoyed the Farmer’s Garden on an Everything Bagel, coconut milk latte & slice of double chocolate zucchini bread. The veggies were fresh & I loved the crispy capers on the my bagel. The java was perfect and chocolate zucchini bread was moist & decadent.

I might’ve cried (tears of joy) a little bit when I walked into this gem. I haven’t had a bagel in 25 years and was blown away by the delicious bagel, cupcake, and dirty chair latte I had. Happy belly!!

The bagel and latke tots were very very good. The guy in front of me does not normally eat gluten free. He took a bite of his bagel and was surprised how good the taste and texture were. He said he would absolutely eat there again.

Staff was friendly and quick.

I went with non-celiac family who said I should double check that it was actually gf because of how similar to regular bagels they were. This place had delicious food and the bakery case had so many options I haven’t seen gf before. I definitely recommend!

I guess it’s like the fight club, where we don’t talk about it, because there’s no messaging that things are gluten free. I asked and it is, but ask if you want! The bagel is delish, closest thing to the gluten wheat bagels I miss .

best bagels ever!! and the chocolate babka - actually everything there, you could convince me it wasn’t gluten free and i’d believe you. this is the only gf bagel i’ve found that has the chewy exterior and soft crumb of a regular bagel

I ordered the strawberry frosted doughnut and a plain bagel with the jalapeño cheddar cream cheese. The doughnut was incredible and the bagel was amazing. My friend who eats gluten also enjoyed her bagel. Dedicated gf!

One of my favorite gf spots. We are there multiple times a week. By far the best gluten free bagel out there. My non-celiac family even loves their bagels. You also must try their cinnamon rolls.

Everything is gluten free. Walked in and saw the most delicious spread of all gluten free bagels, pastries, breads, cookies etc. was in Heaven. Food was so good. Had a hot sandwich and a donut, the BEST gluten free donut I’ve ever tasted!!!!

I literally cried when I learned my favorite NYC gluten free bakery was coming to my new home in Santa Monica. Unrecognizably gluten free. For celiacs and NY transplants - you get the benefit of both the universe delights on the menu and the quality bagels uniquely offered in NYC.
