I really wanted to like this place, however I have a dairy allergy as well as celiac. Three times there has been an challenge with the person taking the order (not educated in the menu or how to take a special request) and three different occasions there was miscommunication with the cook staff. I wasn’t interested in a free meal, just a safe place for me to eat and I seriously hate my disease and the inconvenience it is for everyone around me. The last time they messed up the order I had eaten half the meal before realizing it. Needless to say, I really tried to give them a chance because they were new but I can’t continue to take chances when the stakes are so high. I wasn’t able to attend the rest of my days activities and when I communicated it to the cook I wasn’t met with a very friendly apology.

As a vegetarian with celiacs, eating out is very challenging for me and I absolutely love sandwiches. Finding a place with gluten free and vegetarian sandwiches is like finding a unicorn. These sandwiches are tasty and unique and nowhere near where I live, but I’ve made the trek twice for them and thought it was worth it. I love the blueberry pesto sandwich. My only complaint is that the gf bun is so bland and fluffy. I would like more of the flavorful fillings and less bun. I grew up eating Mom’s homemade whole wheat bread, so I like bread with some flavor and texture to it. I know gf bread is a challenge, but I hope they’ll eventually come up with something better than this. Also, I find that the buns tend to be smaller than a whole sandwich. I’m a hearty eater, so even if I order a side I’m still hungry when I’m done, so it tends to make for an expensive lunch.

Other reviewer couldn't find it. It's in the corner of the shopping center. GF clearly marked on menu. extensive options.

Fool's errand. This place does not ecist. there is a fresh market which is a grocery store.
Fantastic food, knowledgeable staff and management that really understands gluten free. Most food is already gluten free. What isn't is kept separate. Pizza dough is even tossed with rice flour to ensure that no wheat is in the air. Great, safe dining in Rockville!

My second time at a Modern Market, and first time at this location. I ordered the Buddha Bowl, which is gluten free and vegan. It was delicious and I did not get sick.

I ordered gluten free pepperoni pizza and mentioned my allergy. When it arrived the crust looked different than I remember and I asked the server to confirm it was gf before I ate. He came back and said yes, it was. A lot of their menu was different than last time, so I assumed they were using a different crust. Worst reaction I have ever had. I am so sick. It had to have been a regular crust, and not just cross contamination.

This was hands down the most seasoned, fresh sandwich I’ve ever had! I ordered the chicken basil sandwich on gluten free bread, tomato basil soup and a GF chocolate chip cookie. No reactions to my celiac and absolutely Devine!
