I was stuck between one and 2 stars for this review but I decided on two. Let’s start with the food, which although we deliberated on not eating, we did in fact, and it was a solid, mediocre 3 stars. It wasn’t inedible, but it certainly didn’t live up to the hype surrounding it on some other reviews. My stir fry was too salty with too much soy sauce, the rice was plain and bland, my moms sandwich was plain and the ‘guacamole’ was an imposter- I’ve had guacamole before, many times, and this was not it. Aside from that disappointment, they also didn’t handle celiac well. The manager knew what he was talking about, but their staff was poorly trained. After I asked one of the servers if the soy sauce in my stir fry (marked with ‘severe gluten allergy’) was gluten free, she responded no. It was confusing and unfortunate, so I can’t be certain that the chefs knew what they were doing, but I didn’t get sick. The two stars are because the manager was kind and reassuring and even brought out the soy sauce when we asked to see it, but the rest of the staff was not well trained and I didn’t feel 100% safe here. I wouldn’t recommend this if you’re just here on vacation given the multitude of other gf restaurants in town.
