I used to like this place for a safe gluten free dining experience even with how expensive it always is, but the last time I tried to order with them two different managers gave different answers on what could and could not be made gluten free and ending up telling me none of the sushi could be. Even before then their answers to what could be gluten free changed more than once, and I felt a little sick after. I don't think they are clear on what's safe and what isn't and have also been short with me when I've asked for clarification, I won't be ordering from here again

This place is amazing. I had the best sushi after a long time. Great service. Our server was very knowledgeable. He made sure that the chef knows about my celiac and the food doesn’t have cross contamination. I had no reactions afterwards.

Delicious and server very knowledgeable. She just told me exactly what could be done gf off the menu. They confirmed it was gf when my dishes came out. Great service.

This is by far the best dining experience I’ve ever had, especially considering gluten-free safety. The quality, service, atmosphere, and prices are outstanding. My girlfriend and I split the seasonal sashimi dish, yellowtail roll, spicy salmon roll (finally! GF spicy salmon!), ice cream, and cloud cake. The waiter, Isaiah, helped me select two fantastic sake drinks (I normally dislike sake, but these were delightful) and effortlessly guided us through the menu to ensure everything was GF. This is sushi on a new level. You must try this place if it fits your budget. At least try the rolls — they’re only $10 and packed with high-quality fish! Cannot recommend highly enough.

the best experience ive had in center city and ive lived here for about a year now. very knowledgable staff, amazing service, modern yet cozy atmosphere. my waiter read off all the gf items to me and answered every question i had quickly and confidently. having severe celiac i havent had real authentic japanese food in over 2 years bc of so many situations of cross contamination, but here i felt safe. i waited 24 hrs before writing this review to say ive had absolutely no symptoms or reactions to the food. i highly recommend the entree: ishi yaki bop. expensive but totally worth it. everything on the menu is a work of art. i definitely plan on returning, the food was delicious! :)

Morimoto, named after head chef Morimoto of Food Network's Iron Chef, prepares the very best in contemporary Japanese cuisine.
Strike two in Philly. Staff is knowledgeable about gf / contamination issues but there are very few items that can be made gf. Been spoiled in CA where there are entire gf Japanese restaurants. Food/service was great, atmosphere a little to "hip" for this down to earth Bay Area foodie. Very good food -- needs to ditch soy and convert more menu items to better tasting Tamari! Food is five stars, just be prepared to only have four or five choices (two of which are salad!).
Very knowledgeable staff, incredible food!
