They were very nice and seemed knowledgeable. I had Ruben on gluten free bread. I got very sick. Wouldn’t recommend this place unfortunately

The bacon cheeseburger and kettle chips tasted good but I had a very bad reaction to the keto gluten free bun. There must be some cross contamination because I only react that bad when I’ve eaten alot of gluten.

A separate menu for gluten free breakfast and lunch, and they get all the gluten free baked goods and bread from Patty Cakes across the street. Loved everything.

As a celiac, I have eaten here safely 5-10 times, typically sticking to the tacos with corn tortillas. But they recently debuted a homemade “gluten free and keto” bun that is baked at their sister store/bakery across the street. I had a severe glutening reaction after trying it, so I’m pretty sure the buns are cross contaminated. I recommend sticking with the tacos.

I queued here for a good 25mins and their regular menu looked good but their gluten free menu was very basic, I was hoping for more. We went someplace else.

My daughter and I are Celiac and Loved this restaurant. Did not have any symptoms after a couple days later. They seemed knowledgeable about GF and have a GF menu and able to accommodate with with either a GF bun or lettuce. Loved the atmosphere also. A fun place and great food!!!

The staff was knowledgeable about celiac and asked specifics. My daughter had a lettuce wrapped bacon burger and chips. She didn’t have a reaction. The staff was super friendly. We will for sure go back.

I have Celiac and ate have eaten here twice without getting sick. The 2nd time I ordered a GF sandwich without the bun and it came with a bun... just a misunderstanding and he readily made another one, even put the goat cheese spread on the side just in case. So yummy and the people who work there are very personable!!

I was one satisfied customer after leaving here! The hostess I was giving my order too really knew everything about the menu AND all sauces/dressings (usually, for myself, when it comes to the dressings, waitresses/hostesses don’t always know and have to ask a manager or chef). My friends I was having dinner with is vegan, and the hostess even bent over backwards and completely re-made a meal for her that ended up being delicious tacos! Loved this place so much. All of the staff were friendly and followed up with us to make sure everything turned out right. Definitely going back soon!

The staff went above and beyond to make sure my two celiac daughters could eat. We had the grilled chicken with fruit and a burger (no bun) with fruit

Alerted kitchen of gluten and dairy allergy and was served salad with parmesan cheese. Patrons with severe allergies should be wary and extra cautious.

Breakfast is served all day Sunday. This increases your options. Because sandwiches with out bread isn't really a meal. Everyone enjoyed their food.

Went for breakfast. Had the corn beef hash breakfast tacos and my husband had the breakfast bowl. Both were great. They have a separate gluten free menu with many choices for breakfast, not sure about options lunch or dinner. Really good coffee! The bakery across the street has gluten free cookies if you're looking for something sweet. Casual place where you order at the counter and find your own seat where they bring you your food. If the weather permits, sit outside on their lovely patio. We would have gone back a few times if we had visited here earlier in our trip.

We had a great breakfast there, although i got the eggs sausage and potatoes so it was pretty straightforward. They had a crustless quiche that looked pretty good too. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because their GF lunch/dinner menu looks like a lot of sandwiches without the bread and salads. Nice atmosphere in the cute, historic downtown.

Visited March 2013. The manager was out and the counter people said they didn't speak enough Spanish to translate the gluten free menu to the kitchen. They weren't sure about items either. The line was out the door and we waited all that time to be turned away!!!!! Didn't get to try anything.

We came to the Mosquito Cafe because they claimed to have a gluten free menu. I was disappointed to find out that their gluten free options were salads, minus croutons...duh...or any sandwich mini the bun or bread. I don't know why it is so difficult these days to actually have gluten free bread available for gluten intolerant customers. But, we were there and it was lunch time so we stayed. I ordered the Napa Salad and my boyfriend ordered the steak sandwich, both of which were very good. I just get tired of eating salads all the time. The line to order was extremely slow. Many vacant tables had Reserved signs on them while guests stood around and stared at each other, waiting for vacancies or someone to clean the dirty tables. The wait time for the food delivery was long. The quality of the food brought my rating up to 3 stars from 2.

gluten free menu on the wall, so not very convenient for ordering, since you have to go to the counter to order your food. The man working the counter was not 100% sure abiut which sides were gluten free, so I played it safe with broccoli salad. When our food was brought out to us my pulled pork had the bun (and this happened twice) and the lady who brought our food said the counter guy probably did not hear me, although, he and I had a discussion about which sides were gluten free. My husband was brought his food and then the lady came and took it away because it was someone elses order ONLY to bring it back to him again. The food was decent once we had it.

The food was good, the gluten-free things well marked and treated, but they were very, very slow even outside of peak lunch time. That said, the menu had a lot of normal, not fried seafood dishes, compared to other island eateries.

You'll love this place. We stayed in Galveston for a long weekend and ate here 3 times! This is a healthy place where nothing is fried and everything is super fresh. Be prepared for a line out the door for breakfast, but it's worth the wait. They know what gluten free means, which is reassuring when you don't want tummy trouble to ruin a weekend at the beach. They need a location in the Houston Heights.
