Mr. Pollo Pensacola

My husband has celiac- & is highly sensitive. Anytime we try somewhere new we are nervous to say the least. Mr. Pollo is a WIN! The food was absolutely delicious & they couldn’t have been nicer. We had the chicken for 2 (whole chicken), fried plantains, black beans & rice & French fries! We could have done w/out the fries - hubby just wanted them. They will give you little cups of sauces… put some of the pickled white onions on the black beans & rice - thank me later! Lol The light green creamy sauce was great on the plantains & chicken. Honestly, everything was amazing. We have enough chicken left over for 2 more meals! We will be back! Thank you Mr Pollo!!!

Mr Pollo is my new favorite restaurant in Pensacola. Their chicken is INCREDIBLE! This region doesn't have many options for a Celiac like me, so I was really happy to find this restaurant. The only gluten containing ingredient in the place is a flour tortilla, so everything is safe except for the quesadilla.

Went to the restaurant because of the good reviews that I saw. When I began ordering the whole chicken combo I told him I was gluten free and the guy taking the order had no clue had to go ask what was gluten-free. He said the fries were not gluten-free even though I read it had a dedicated fryer the only thing he told me that was gluten-free was the rice and beans mashed potatoes and that was it. The chicken was delicious however but I won’t go back.

The food was amazing! The owner suggested the Tostones - deep fried green plantains - and we were so glad we ordered them. We will definitely eat here again if we are near the Pensacola airport.

Tonight my husband and I ate at Mr. Pollo on 9th Ave. It was delicious, plentiful, and gluten free! We ordered the whole chicken for two which came with two sides. We ordered the black beans and rice and also ordered the plantains and yuca. Everything was amazing and the dips and extras were delicious. The french fries are GF but I didn’t try them this time. We were assured that our food was GF and an hour later I feel great! And, with drinks (sans alcohol) the bill was just $30 & we came home with 1/2 a chicken! Add Mr. Pollo to your list of GF places to eat!! The staff is wonderful and knowledgeable, too.
