NautiMI on the River

NautiMI has always been so accommodating! I explained my celiac diagnosis to the staff and they wash their hands, change their gloves, and either use a clean scoop or go and clean the scoops before getting me ice cream.

I usually ask them to try and scoop from the tub in an area that looks less scooped out of. If you get multiple flavors, they go above and beyond and also use a clean scoop for each tub.

Almost the entire staff now recognize me and they all know exactly how to aid in keeping me safe as the owners have trained them. They can’t guarantee no cross contamination, but they work hard to prevent any unnecessary risk. I’ve been in there many times and have not gotten sick yet.

This place was amazing! They serve Hudsonville ice cream and everything is labeled with all allergens. When I explained my celiac concerns, the 3 staffers said they would change gloves and sanitize everything including the scoop each time they used it for me. They also let me read the packages of all topping ingredients to ensure I felt safe. I only got the toppings that didn’t have scoopers (they were in twist containers that emptied from the bottom) so I didn’t have to worry about CC. Amazing service and SO kind. Highly recommend.
