Everything in the store is gluten free! They also had gluten and dairy free muffins, brownies, cupcakes, and scones (also vegan). Everything I got was absolutely amazing! I will definitely be back if I’m in the area again.

Good lord, this was heaven to an out of town traveler. Had an absolutely delicious panini that was HUGE, a chai latte, and bought up a bunch of the ham and cheese wheel/chocolate chip muffin/pretzel for my trip. The sandwich bread doesn’t crumble and had a delightful cheese crust on top. The pretzel was especially good with soft dough and even a little nacho cheese on the side! Wish this was closer to home so I could go over and over again.

As a celiac who has not ate out in 2 years since being diagnosed, Nece’s Gluten Free Bakery was the perfect stepping stone to explore gluten free eatery since their bakery is 100% dedicated gluten free establishment!! I tried the Nece’s pastrami panini pressed sandwich with all the fixings and it was one of the best gluten free sandwiches I have ever had in my 2 years of being a celiac and I paired it with a delicious iced almond milk chai! I also got a lemon poppyseed muffin and a mini cake to go since it was my birthday! Both to die for! Nece’s staff was amazing and answered all my questions that I had about their items! I would recommend this place to anyone who has celiac disease and I will definitely be coming back to this place as a safe spot for me to enjoy a celiac safe lunch and sweet treats on the go! This is a great option for celiac friendly dining! It is dedicated gluten free, so no concerns about cross contamination. I had a turkey panini that was delicious. It is easy to find and there is parking in a lot. It is maybe an 8 minute drive from Cannery Row.

Delicious baked goods! The chocolate muffin is a personal favourite, and the savoury options are great as well. For those (like me) who cannot eat oats, the only items containing oats are the cookies. I’ve eaten plenty of their other options and haven’t had a trace

Not only is this a dedicated gf bakery, but everything was delicious. They even had some vegan options too! We had the lemon poppy seed muffin, brownie, shortbread cookie, and the jalapeño and cheddar cheese scone. I could have ordered so much more, but had to stop myself. Definitely recommend.

Definitely the best gluten bakery I have been to. My daughter and I had the scone-wich breakfast sandwich. They were so delicious! We went a little crazy and bought cinnamon rolls, a blueberry muffin, chocolate chip muffin, coffee cake muffin, a brownie, a ham & cheese roll, and a pretzel. All were excellent. The customer service was great. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the other items.

Even though I went off my elimination diet for this , my first, experience, I have to say my taste buds are loving it. There Signature roll has a cruck to the crust, smooth airy texture overall, with a bit if sweetish almond taste. Nummy!

Great little gf bakery. We got a cinnamon roll and a soft pretzel and both were soooo delicious. Been a long time since I’ve had either and I enjoyed every bite! One downside for me: I also have serious nut allergies and I wasn’t 100% comfortable with their approach to handling non-gluten allergens. They were a bit vague about how they avoided cross contamination with nuts. That being said, I just bought items that were clearly kept separate from the nut-containing items and thoroughly enjoyed them!

You must try the ham and cheese roll! This place is an absolute gem with muffins the size of your head, amazing soft cookies, good coffee and a good selection of savoury items too. So glad we found it on our trip, going back today to stock up before we head off on the road again. My gluten eating partner loved it too, you wouldn't know it's GF it's just so good.

Phenomenal treats throughout with wonderful, kind staff! We bought a few to go which were great even a day later (Brownie without nuts but with dairy—super rich and chocolatey with a lovely hint of salt on top and large chunks of chocolate; apple cinnamon muffin—gf df, super moist and fluffy with wonderful apple chunks throughout; blueberry muffin-lots of blueberries throughout, also very fluffy and moist). My partner and I both got a sconewich (I got the maple bacon scone with avocado, tomato and spinach, he got the cheddar scone with bacon)—both were again very tasty. We plan to make an extra trip back just to get some extra goodies for our travels home because it was so good! I’m so glad we decided to try it, it’s hard to find really good gf or even gf df treats that don’t give some type of let down compared to one’s containing gluten and dairy; my partner normally eats anything and everything without restrictions and thought the treats were great too!

Delicious. Much better than the Mourning Dove bakery that occupied the same storefront while back. Great scone breakfast sandwiches made to order. Small indoor and outdoor seating area. What a great gem — friendly team, lovely storefront, and a wide variety gluten free treats. Enjoyed trying the apply cinnamon muffin — very moist; chocolate brownie (offered a dairy free version, too); lemon bar — great texture, structured in a muffin paper; and a maple bacon scone — nice balanced flavor. There were a variety of cupcakes and cookies available, too, but we did not try those. If you are in the Monterey or Carmel area, this is a must visit!

It seemed to be somewhat difficult to find dedicated gluten free places to eat in Monterey, but once I found Nece’s my day was made. There were quite a few options as far as baked goods go as well as fresh loafs of bread, there was also “sconewhiches” which was a breakfast sandwich made with scones and it was exceptionally delicious. They also have quite a few vegan options as well. The owner was so sweet and the next time I find myself in Monterey I will be here.

Nece’s is incredible! It is so great to have a totally GF cafe in Monterey. The sandwiches are delicious and the chocolate chip cookies are seriously the best I’ve ever had. Sharque is so sweet and always ready to chat and laugh with her customers. Just make sure you get there before the cinnamon rolls sell out!
