Review of Next Door by Wegmans

We were in Rochester for a wedding over the weekend and added Next Door Bar and Grill at the top of our list to try. Two of the four of us traveling together cannot have gluten and to say that this restaurant was a major find is an understatement. From the moment we sat down to the moment we paid the bill our server took extremely great care of us. Upon learning of the gluten allergies (and a pregnancy) at our table she went right through the menu to let us know what was good for each of us to eat. Impressive is an understatement. The gluten free rolls they serve are the best I've ever had, and from what we were told they make a different flavor each week. There is no specific gluten free menu but she was very specific to show us what we could eat and how they could modify items to our need. My friend ordered a scallop dish - he said it was absolutely delicious. I ordered sushi with no hesitation. My friend, who recently found out he is celiac was thrilled when our server brought him out a scoop of ice cream with the most amazing gluten free caramel sauce as a little added treat. He couldn't believe the level of service and attention to detail this restaurant showed us. I hope Wegman's opens more of these restaurants at other locations. It was one of the best experiences I've had a restaurant!
