2nd visit and ordered off the GF menu. Very good and no noticeable reactions to gluten.

March 11, 2024. Ordered the Tom Ka soup hotplate with chicken and a side of rice. My soup was great and I did not get sick!
The host at the door told me that all curry dishes were gluten free and that was it. However, once we got seated my server and I talked about all of the menu items. About 50% of the menu items could be prepared gluten-free. Interestingly, several of the beef dishes could not be gluten-free because of the marinade used to prep the beef. My wife and I got the glass noodle salad and Tom kha soup to split as appetizers. For the main course, we split an order of garlic shrimp and a chicken mango curry. The food was delicious. I like my stuff very spicy but my wife doesn't. They brought out chili paste and other hot spices for me to add separately. All of those were gluten-free as well. I would advise that you speak to the host, but before you walk out, have a talk with your server. The servers seem to understand the gluten allergy pretty well. I did not get sick from gluten but I did overdo the hot spice (my doing).

The food was delicious with lots of options. GF and vegan for me, meat dishes for my husband. We both had curries that we enjoyed. You also get to pick how spicy you want it to be.

Everyone else must’ve gotten lucky with their experience because my experience this afternoon was subpar. I had heard a lot of great things about this place from other celiacs friends and was excited to go. I ordered a gluten free padthai with tofu, and clarified twice that it needed to be gluten free. Unfortunately, I was cross contaminated. Luckily, I thought to grab some GliadinX before leaving the house and immediately took some. I have been incredibly bloated and uncomfortable all day today. It was not even busy in the restaurant when I went so I am disappointed that they were unable to safely prepare my food. Definitely would not recommend eating here—if you want somewhere that serves good Thai food, go to Noodlehead in Shadyside instead.

Nicky’s Thai is extremely accommodating for gluten free! If you look at their menu they list the dishes that can be made gluten free. If you tell them you are gluten free they will make sure you have amazing food that doesn’t make you sick! Be careful with the spice level though!

Delicious food, and a lot of gf and vegetarian options. They take cross contamination seriously. You just need to specify that it’s a gluten allergy/celiac.

Awesome Thai food. Kids had fried rice with steak. I had chicken pad Thai. It was hands down “the best Thai food” I ever had.

This restaurant is a gem!! I had Pad Thai Noodle, soup and for dessert had Coconut Rice Pudding. All was delicious and I felt fine afterwards. Service was prompt and friendly and there were lots of GF choices. Will be back when I visit Pittsburgh again.

Amazing Thai place! I think it is very popular based on the crowd there for lunch on a weekday. I got the chicken pad Thai which was amazing and a huge portion. It did come with a crab Rangoon as a garnish but I just have that to someone else.
They said they can do GF -all of their curries and pad Thai are GF. We had a red curry and a chicken pad Thai. I was worried about the Cross contamination and there was a bit of a language barrier communicating with them but the food was very good and we did not get sick.
