Awful experience. My date and I got the same dish and I got gluten free. When it came i confirmed with the guy MULTIPLE times that I had the gf one. I took a few bites and felt it wasn’t right, asked a different staff and I was eating the gluten one. I understand mistakes happen but they made a huge ordeal about sending multiple people to apologize, but didn’t even comp the dish on the bill, which I thought was extremely weird.

They almost got it right…but I was glutened here and was sick for several days. I attended a dinner work party and told the main server I needed gluten free options and was assured they had cross contamination protocols in place. For 3 of the 4 items I was served, the person serving me made a point to say it was the gluten free option. However when I was served my entree the server didn’t say my meal was gluten free, and when I asked to make sure I had the gluten free version, he said “uh…yeah this is the gluten free one”. It sadly was not gluten free. Disappointing because the rest of the meal was delicious, but I don’t plan on going back.

Nicola's has a gluten free menu, however the server did not know what could be also prepared dairy free. The server wilted by me asking the question and then avoided me as much as possible. Horrible experience and put a damper on the evening. Most meats have dairy and cannot be altered on site. GFDF narrows the menu dramatically to three entrees or pasta with vegetables. I expected better given the price and reputation of this restaurant. I do not recommend. There are much better options in Cincinnati.

Plenty of gluten free options and gfree bread. Make sure to specify you're celiac. Our server told us that the gluten free items were made in a separate area of the kitchen. Delicious Bolognese.

Food and service were fantastic. We live in the neighborhood and went for their Monday night special (salad and bolognese for 1/2 price). Definitely will be going back!
Update: We just found out that if you call the day before your reservation and tell the hosts to let the chef know you want a GF bread basket, the chef will make you a fresh loaf of gluten free bread.

Amazing!!! They brought me gf bread before my meal and I would say 75% of the menu can be done gluten free. I had Bolognese with gf pasta! It was delicious and an added bonus is I didn’t get sick after I ate! We will be back
