Food was incredible. Some of the best tacos I've ever had. Items very clearly marked and felt very safe eating here.

This place was recommended to us as a potential celiac-safe option. According to our server, all of their food items are now gluten free (some drink options are not). They are a 2022 James Beard Foundation award winner, and the food is amazing! Our server recommended the tuna tacos--not something I would normally order--and they were to die for! The bean and cheese was amazing too (as were my husband's duck taco and sope; I rarely get to try his food when we're out)! The tacos average $10/taco, but you are eating amazing award-winning food. And the restaurant makes a point of giving back to the community and carefully/responsibly sourcing their food, which I'll gladly support any day. Definitely worth a try!

I want to start by saying the staff was amazing and very helpful. Especially with allergies/dietary restrictions. And my sweet potato taco was very flavorful….
But. If you don’t read the website you won’t know how small the portions are and how high the pricing is. Each item (taco/quesadilla) is about $9-14 (no sides, the quesadilla is one corn tortilla folded in half). We didn’t read the website. I found this on the GF app in the Austin rush hour so we had to make a quick decision. And when we arrived we just couldn’t see paying $10/each taco so we just had one each since we were very hungry. We don’t mind spending money for good food but the cost to price ratio is very high.
I love that they have vegan/GF/DF options.
The owner was a super nice man. I hope this review helps those that may just read the reviews on this one and not the website like I did.

Last week the only menu item with gluten was the tuna with soy sauce. This week they removed the soy from the menu and the taco was amazing.
It's a tiny place with mostly outdoor seating and a very community feel and it's my new favorite restaurant.

We tried a LOT of different tacos, drinks & desserts here & everything was fantastic & safely GF. Our favorites were the duck carnitas taco, the enchilada potosina, the smoked cabbage taco, & beet “tartar” tostada. Wanted to try the tuna tostada, as I heard that one is really good, too. Kids loved the bean & cheese tacos, but one kid didn’t like the cheese they use (panela cheese). Both liked the duck fat refried beans so much that I couldn’t get a taste.
We sat in the big yard behind the building at well-spaced picnic tables with umbrellas. Kids had a biggish grassy lawn to play in while we talked. Was like being in someone’s nice, relaxing backyard.
Note: prices are not cheap, but the food is high quality & totally worth it. Just go into it knowing it’s a treat night out & that your meal will cost more that at other taco stands but that’s okay because these tacos are not your typical taco stand tacos.

Excellent, high quality Mexican food. I have celiac and had no problem here, most of the menu is gluten free.
