I have had a very bad celiac reaction eating at the O'Charleys in Gastonia, NC. Also, the service is terrible and the food is almost as bad going down as it does coming back up.

Trust me, as a celiac, as of 2016, just don't. The "allergen menu" itself is crusted with stuff that's gonna cross contaminate you. Staff is friendly but completely ignorant, untrained, not knowledgeable. Drive to Chattanooga - save yourselves

This location has an allergen list but the waitress was very accommodating with tracking down what specifically made each entrée listed as non-gluten free. When she wasn't sure how to answer my questions about items and ingredients, she sent out the manager to help. He actually went to the kitchen and looked at labels. Simply removing croutons, tortilla strips or substituting plain grilled chicken for the 12 pepper grilled chicken was all that was needed to "fix" some salads. They were all very friendly.

very little on the menu is GF...the ribs are though and they are very good if you eat pork. The GF menu is an allergen list which takes a minute to realize. ...only when you see wheat in almost everything do you realize it just shows ALL the possible allergens. one star only because there is so little. ...service is good, food is good

they were not careful. I had to send 2 of our meals back, then when the waitress said "it will be just a couple minutes" I knew they were just cleaning off our meat. I told her they had to make totally new plates as the breaded items had touched it all. she went running back to the kitchen to stop them. I know I got a new steak because it looked different, no way of knowing if the sides were replaced too. I do not think they were. they obviously have no allergy training.

Don't even waste your time. I asked for the allergy menu, good luck finding something without gluten in it. (The menu is a folder with the allergies listed and it's dirty, they could at least make new copies of it) I believe a certain type of tilapia, a certain type of chicken, steak, broccoli, asparagus, a salad and a baked potato (those may be extra, I guess because they are "premium" veggies, not sure why) are the only gluten free items.

This place used to do fine with gf and I went regularly, but the last the we went the wait person didn't give any confidence about understanding gf. We all know it takes a lot of trust to eat out, and an uninterested wait person can make or break the success of getting an u contaminated meal. So it's hard to predict what experience you will have here.

Worst "gluten free menu" ever. A notebook with a microscopic list of allergens in each dish. No information on sandwiches if you were to get them with no bun. No description of each item so you have to compare to the menu. List only includes whether or not it has wheat, not gluten.

Very few choices. Slow service. Their "gluten free menu" was a paper print out with allergen columns. Hard to figure out because menu items didn't line up exactly and column headings were only on the first page. The waitress apparently did not understand what gluten free requires. She was carrying bread baskets and then poured our water and put lemon in the glasses without washing or using gloves. We left and ate elsewhere. I do not recommend O'Charley's.

I've had good luck at O'Charley's. I've eaten there a number of times and haven't gotten sick. Their allergen menu is pretty clunky to navigate, it would be nice if they have a formal menu rather than a 3 ring binder full of stuff. At the same time, if you do have multiple foods you need to avoid, you can see what your options are. The menu is pretty sparse but they do have some options.

Pre-celiac I loved this restaurant so I gave it a try about 6 months after being diagnosed and got very sick. I chalked it up to inexperience on my part and the possibility that I wasn't yet healed completely. I tried it again much later and still got sick. I was clear with the wait staff each time and they seemed to understand. I have not gone back since.

Ask for the kitchen manager, Jared. He was originally at Carinos and we would go there asking for him because he would cook specifically for my diet. The old kitchen manager was let go from O'Charleys and things have been running great since Jared has come along per the general manager. We also gave the general manager a crash course in Celiacs during our visit in early September 2014.

I write this with a heavy heart, but I will not come back to O'Charley's. They do have a gluten free menu (of sorts...) but apparently their cook staff are not on the ball. I use to eat here fairly often. The last visit ended in disaster, however. I ordered my normal meal which is gluten free naturally: a sirloin steak and baked potato. Somehow I was glutened and ended up missing work the next day due to the severity of the hidden gluten. I have no clue how they managed to get gluten into a steak and potato, but my body doesn't lie. Yikes!

Most O'Charley's restaurants are good, yet the ones in Clarksville gets so much business from nearby military base that they appear not to have time to deal with allergy issues. If ya get it to go, check box before you leave. Disappointing cause they do have good food, they just need gf educated staff.
