I find that Rafferty's hires teens who really don't know how to prepare made-to-order meals, or to provide quality customer service. More than 1/2 the time, my food is prepared incorrectly (e.g., something is missing from the plate, or the veggies are steamed vs. sauteed or vice versa. The staff NEVER credits the tab for mistakes on the meal. If 1/3 of my meal comes to me 20 minutes after the rest of the meal b/c they forgot it, they will still charge 100% of the price. The food is about a 7 out of 10, the atmosphere is about a 6 out of 10, and the service is about a 4 out of 10. For the price, this restaurant does not offer a quality dining experience. For gluten-free diners, it appears that they consider any gluten-free meal to be a very special order that they take full license to potentially screw-up. GF diners beware - and good luck if you dine here!

as a previous employee of raffertys, I can say that this is in NO WAY a safe place for someone with a gluten allergy to eat. the kitchen staff is NOT educated on the allergen at all, so will often try to pass off fried items as gluten free (including the French fries which are listed on the menu as gluten free) even though those items are fried alongside breaded items using the same oil. most of the sauces and dressings contain gluten, and if asked to make a gluten free version of a dish, the sauce is almost always included.

Not many options and the server I spoke to wasn't very knowledgeable about it
Not many gluten free options here at all.
Very knowledgeable about allergens and cross contamination.

Says gluten-free options on the bottom of their menu. However, they would not make anything for us gluten-free besides a grilled cheese for my daughter. I was very nervous with the safety. Server was not educated at all with gluten-free safety or options asked the manager they basically told us all they had was bread and not a dedicated fryer Would not recommend at all

Came here for a work lunch because their website boldly proclaims that they offer gluten free options. Three different servers couldn’t answer whether a single thing was gluten free. They did specifically tell me not to eat the fries because of cross contamination, but were unable to give a single suggestion as to what I actually could eat? Eventually they brought me a wildly complicated allergen chart that shows which allergens are present in each menu item. I had to search carefully to see which items contained wheat, which ended up being basically every single thing. Even the tomato soup has flour, potato skins are flour crusted, the burrito bowl was a no go because the rice is prepped with wheat somehow, and can’t even do the burgers lettuce wrapped. Finally the manager came out and talked to the chef for me and said they could make me a stir fry. It was actually pretty good, but if I wanted stir fry I probably wouldn’t go to an American restaurant. This was a total miss imo. 2 stars because the manager was helpful (even though the staff wasn’t.)
