Old Moon Deli & Pies

I’d heard they did GF & vegan pies which is such a rare find for me, I had to try it out. They’d sold the last piece but said there’d be more the next day. Go back today and they’ve made the exact one I’d asked for! It was hot and amazing and delicious and it felt wonderful for someone to care that much that I got my treat!

Checked this place out because of the reviews from Find me GF. I did NOT get a GF menu, and the server was not nice about me asking what was GF. So far I feel fine- got a chicken sandwich with a GF bun, but this is not a place I’d recommended just because they were not helpful at all. Did not make me feel confident they cared about my allergy.

Some of this tastes too good to be true and some is definitely gf. Either way, pretty much anything I’v ordered here, I’v asked for it to be GF and it was adapted to be GF with no hiccups. So the variety is there, and they didn’t make a big deal about it. I’v eaten here 5 times since I found it on this App and haven’t gotten sick. I really cannot have gluten and get very ill if I have any contamination.

Great food! They can make any of their sandwiches GF. They are aware of Celiac Disease and what is needed to prevent cross contamination. Visited twice on our trip and can’t wait to go back.

Saw a previous review and asked if they could do a GF Monte Christo. Answer-Yes. Asked if the understood about avoiding cross contamination. Answer-Yes. Sandwich was scrumptious and I did not get sick! My daughter had a regular sandwich and raved about hers as well.

This was my second visit and my sandwich was delicious! I asked if my GF bread could be toasted before making my sandwich and they accommodated my request. The chef is experimenting with new GF desserts and I had the pleasure of having the GF/vegan cherry pie. It was yummy.

Extremely good food and great customer service. They always change their gloves when preparing GF food.

Celiac friendly?

Yes

These sandwiches are top 3 all-time for me, even accounting for prior glutenous sandwiches I had before my diagnosis. Lots of GF sides too. They change gloves and put GF sandwiches on separate wax paper. I haven’t had any pie yet because the GF pies are always sold out, which I’ll interpret as a testament to their tastiness.
