Small pasta portions, but salad is great!
I really love that they have a drive-up, to-go service. I have never had a cross-contamination issue. LOVE the thunder down under Gf dessert, as well.
I really enjoyed having my beloved salad with their amazing vinagrette again after 6 years, and the Mixed Grill was fantastic. We had the manager and head chef come out and talk to us about my dairy and gluten allergy, were very comfortable that we'd get a great meal - which we did. I will eat at an Olive Garden again.
I ordered and showed the waitress the item I wanted on their gluten free menu. My husband reiterated that I was gluten free and she says ok. Salad comes fine no croutons. Then the food comes and I'm served regular penne pasta. Waitress said "oh I thought you only wanted a gluten free salad". Was not happy with my experience at this Olive Garden!
The manager came over to explain that they were remaking my meal bc they didn't prepare it properly the first time... And he apologized for the delay. I didn't mind bc I'd rather wait than get sick. But it didn't matter... Within a few hours I was sick and knew I was glutened.
Horrid! GF pasta served to me was a plate of mush & when I sent it back the Server didn't feel it was important enough to tell the manager! I asked to s/w Mgr & he came over & said "you need your bill adjusted or something?" He didn't have a clue about GF issues/needs & the cook obviously didnt care either. Olive Garden in Randolph....2 THUMBS DOWN!!
My wife ordered the penne and it was severely undercooked. I had them re-fire the order, but shehad the same result. She ended up getting the salmon and it was fine. Everyone was very knowledgeable about the importance of GF and the even gave us her meal for free.
Gluten free pasta no great.
Hardly any options for main dish & gluten free noodles were not good. Salad is good, but be sure to tell them no croutons. Might be worth going if they offered gluten free bread.
My family and I ate here twice since I've had to eat gluten free. Although they DO have a gf menu option, its very small with not many choices. My first visit I had the pasta, which was dry and broken into small bits and fairly flavorless. Wish I had added meat for texture and taste. Our second visit I had the steak (did I mention no prices are listed on the gf menu?) and veggies. My steak came well instead of medium and although the flavor was good, it was just too dry to enjoy. The veggies were chopped and steamed with no added spice or taste to speak of. And when we got the bill my entree was the most expensive at the table, around $22. I was so happy to see one of my favorite places cater to the gf.. but both experiences were so bad my family and I won't be back.
I was visiting Cape Girardeau yesterday as choose to eat here due to the gluten free menu. I asked for a gluten free menu and ordered the caesar salad from that menu. I noticed that the kids gluten free option was grilled chicken breast so I asked to have that added to my salad. *So I ordered a gluten free caesar salad with gluten free grilled chicken from the gluten free menu.* When it arrived I was quick enough to notice the chicken was breaded. I sent it back (with MUCH confusion). They offered to re-make my meal, only the other people on my party were almost finished with their meal at this point. I asked to just put it in a to-go box. When I decided to finally have my meal, it as the same chicken, brushed off. There were still lots of bits of the breading. This is completely unacceptable. Granted they did comp our meal, and therefore I have no server name or ticket number .... once they handed me the to-go box no one EVER even stopped by our table again. Finally we just walked out. VERY RUDE and unprofessional. **YOU HAVE TO MAKE YOUR MANAGERS EXPLAIN THE SERIOUSNESS OF GLUTNE FREE CUSTOMERS IF YOU ARE GOING TO OFFER A GLUTEN FREE MENU!!!!!** It was more than obvious that the server had NO CLUE what gluten free even meant. My 'to-go' new salad was OBVIOUSLY the same chicken, scrapped off. You can still see breading!!! This was seriously pathetic. Me nor my family will never step foot into your establishments EVER again. Shame on you OG. This was despicable.
It gets 2 stars because they are very friendly there and I think the service is nice, but they have terrible gf options. It's all a crappy penne pasta, and they did not cook it properly so it fell apart. I'm not expecting gourmet, but I do expect at the very least, for a $12 plate, it should be at least as good as the tinkyada pasta. I wish they would offer more and a bit higher quality gf noodle.
Waitress was amazing! Brought salad with croutons on the side, placed the bread and croutons on the far side of the table from me. She was great. I ordered the penne rigate pomodoro. On my 3rd bite, I found a regular spaghetti noodle. I showed the waitress, ordered something else (that my husband would eat) to go. I was sick all night. I've lost all trust. If you are slightly sensitive to gluten, you might be safe...
I'm giving them a second star because they actually have a gluten free menu, but like so many restaurants the gf menu is separate, which means if they are buys you practically have to grab the host before they run away to ask for it. And of course it is a very small menu. There was only one thing on it that I would eat, and unfortunately it was not good at all. This isn't the kind of meal you go out for. It looked like something a child would make while experimenting, and didn't taste much better. Not only was it a poor food combination, but the pasta was not even fully cooked. I guess they did not think that gluten free pasta may take a little longer than normal pasta. Not only was my entree a let down, but the server told me how he made a salad for me with croutons, and then though "oh, I bet he can't eat this." That tells me that the servers are preparing some of the food, and that they do not have a clear procedure for people who are ordering gf.
The salad and sauce were good. The noodles were hard and dried out. The waitress told me that the gluten free foods were prepared elsewhere and just heated and served. I won't go there again.
I love the Olive Garden for the gluten free menu , they have 5 meals to choose from , I didn't like the pasta meals, but the steak and chicken and sea food are all so yummy, and as always their salads are great, with out the crouton's. the only thing I wish they had, would be a lunch portion on the sea food, and the steak meals, as they are very pricey , when your there just for lunch, I won't be able to go there for lunch as much as I'd like to. I am hoping this will change
I love the fact that they have a special menu for there gluten free meals, they have several meals that are gluten free to choose from, and so far everything I have tried is wonderful !!!!!!!!!!!!! Never had any problems give it a try you won't regret it. I don't know about the celiac , you should call ahead and ask
Ate here twice- first time penne GF pasta was decent, not bad, not great but ok. Second time I ate here the penne GF pasta was horrible. Hard and no flavor....I wouldn't come back because I can find a better tasting pasta for less than Olive Garden prices.
I ordered my pasta entree and when it came out of the kitchen, it looked like regular gluten pasta. I asked the server to check and, sure enough, they had given me the wrong food. I'm glad I asked! The server was very apologetic and got me the correct food immediately. Just wish they had been a bit more diligent in the first place. Overall very friendly and nice atmosphere but the mistake made me nervous and the gf pasta was ok.
They do have a GF menu. But it's VERY LIMITED. You can have the salad minus the crutons. It is an amazing salad. But salad alone? There are 2 pasta dishes with red sauce for like $13. Boring and kind of expensive of something I could do better at home. There was also a chicken or pork dish... I forget which one. It was like $15. Boring menu... It was truly the first restaurant that I knew I had celiac and I was being treated differently. I actually felt left out and slightly sad... I won't go back.
gluten-free penne pasta is served, but was over-cooked and tasted awful. I had informd the waiter that my son must follow a gluten-free diet, and then asked if he wanted to order any soup. I asked if it was gluten-free, he said no. why offer a child that must eat gf a menu item that is not gluten-free
Limited options. I had the pasta with marinara sauce and my boyfriend ordered the other pasta plate they offered. Plates are massive. His was really undercooked and mine was undercooked as well but not as badly as his. Ended up telling the waitress and she removed his plate from our bill. Won't be trying it again.
Meh. The gluten free menu has two pasta dishes with red sauce that sound pretty much identical. They were overcooked and mushy. Our waiter, on the other hand, was awesome. He said "no croutons" before I even had a chance to when I ordered the salad.
Very small gluten-free menu, but everything looked good. My husband ordered the regular mixed meat dish (gf version available) and I ordered gf pasta (they only have penne with tomato sauce, optional add of shrimp or chicken). My husband's food was awesome (but expensive). My food.... mushy and falling apart. I hate sending stuff back, but my husband was basically like "we're not paying for that inedible meal" haha. The waitress was really nice about it and asked if I wanted it remade or something different, but I opted for canceling it. I wasn't that hungry anyway. The manager came out to apologize and explained that they microwave their noodles in water to avoid contamination. They took my food off the bill and we had a gift card so my husband's food didn't cost anything. I got some salad in my system beforehand so I wasn't too disappointed. The wait staff was awesome about it all. Unfortunately, my husband and I won't be returning simply because it's expensive to eat the things on the gluten-free menu that actually taste good and we can easily grill our own meat and vegetables at home.
As long as you clearly define Gluten Free, they meet the needs. Not the best GF pasta, rather run of the mill. Knowledge of GF is based on the individual waiter/waitress. I had to remind ours that the salad cannot contain croutons. Try the salmon as an alternate to GF pasta.
VERY impressed!!! Olive Garden had their own gluten free menu, which I asked for; they let me keep it for future reference.. I had the penne pasta with garlic and basil, AND IT WAS AMAZING. I am gluten sensitive and it didn't bother my stomach one bit! Tastes normal too!
Not a lot of choices, but the salad they bring out at first is really good. I would recommend the gluten free pasta. It's good!
After asking for the gluten free menu and ordering the GF mixed grill, I was brought the mixed grill with the potatoes which are not gluten free and mushed up against by grill skewers. The food took so long to arrive at the table, that it was hard to send it all back to avoid cross contamination. The zucchini were delicious.
horrible worst GF pasta I've had. Then to top it off the server ignored the fact I answered no and you can have this, when he came and asked if everything was good. shocked at this horrible experience and having to pay for it.
Do not chance it at this, maybe all, olive garden... Their GF "menu" is 3 choices, and the staff is obviously not trained. Which is good because i am certain i avoided a cross contamination nightmare thanks to the blank stare and the concern when she asked, if shrimp and scallops had gluten...
GF options very limited - for kids you can get pasta with red sauce, or grilled chicken with pasta and red sauce. I think on the main menu they had pasta with red sauce (surprise surprise,) pasta with chicken, salmon, and something else. The manager and server bent over backwards to accommodate us, even bringing us our own salad bowl separate from my husband's. The manager brought me the ingredient list from their Ranch dressing so I could okay it for my kid too. The salmon was really good. The girls' penne with red sauce was "meh." And the grilled chicken was boring. Would I choose to eat here as a night out? No. But a family get-together or night out with friends, it'll do.
GF menu very limited & pasta was poor quality compared to others out there.
Can I give zero stars? Ordered GF pasta, half was hard as a rock and half so overcooked that it was just a ball of mush (looked like risotto it was in a mushy clump!) They're clueless. Didn't even know what gluten free pasta was when I ordered - needed to ask a Manager! Skip it.
Terrible experience. The manager was loudly apologizing to tables near by saying that delay in their food and service was because of someone ordering gluten free. Will not return.
Restaurant itself is falling apart. Literally pieces of the wall are missing. But they do have a gluten free menu with a couple decent gluten free penne dishes. The waitress totally did not understand the whole gluten thing. She thought I couldn't have cheese and without asking, brought the dressing on the side because it had cheese and would not put cheese on my pasta. I was really confused. I would go to Olive Garden again, but not this location.
Ate at Olive Garden tonight to try out the gluten free pasta and was sorely disappointed! it came out looking okay but it was mush! If you are going to serve a specialty item in your restaurant you should know how to prepare it. What upset me further was that no one came out to ask me why I sent it back and then I had to wait an additional 15 minutes while my husband finished his meal to receive the other entree. I don't recommend this to anyone seeking a good gluten free experience. Save your money and just get some past at fresh market or whole foods :-/
Their GF pasta is a frozen microwaved meal, but they still charge premium price for it. It's part-cold, part-hot, terrible texture. An absolute joke. I've confirmed with other online reviews that the GF version is indeed just frozen TV dinner type pasta, not worth the price. For a restaurant to serve such a thing is a shame.
Their Gf menu is terrible. The pasta tasted hard and not cooked well. The amount of time we waited after telling them twice it was supposed to be Gf was beyond annoying . I am so happy to read of other Gf restaurants in my area bc I had a terrible experience with Olive Garden.
Last time we went, the only GF pasta options were adult size portions (with adult size prices) and my son says the pasta is always dry...he's not a fan.
Everything was great including the waitress
I had never eaten olives garden gluten free until today, it was the worst pasta ever! It was not fully cooked & it was pretty hard, barely any sauce on it. If u have to eat gluten free, id say stay away! I decided to give them 1 more chance, this time they had a few not gluten free noodles in it! Which made me really sick
Not a fan of their pasta dish. I think it was corn pasta. It was grainy. Dish was Luke warm. Salad was delish as usual!
Limited gf menu: meat kabob, chicken? or a mediocre gf pasta. Every time I get the pasta, it's not cooked uniformly and there r hard pieces. It is nice to have salad- just order w/o croutons. My bf gets discounts here so we go a few times a year.
I wasn't impressed. I had GF pasta with marinara sauce - one of the few things I could eat there. The pasta was overcooked and had broken apart into a million little pieces. For me, that mediocre meal was absolutely not worth sitting in front of a basket of delicious bread sticks that I couldn't eat. I can make MUCH better pasta at home. But if you get stuck having to go there for whatever reason (which was our case), it's nice to know there's something safe available for you to eat. If Olive Garden came up with a good GF version of their bread sticks, they'd have GF folks flocking to their restaurants...and I'd be first in line.
I was very impressed. I don't have Celiac, but I have a gluten sensitivity. I get embarrassed when I ask for gluten free stuff and people make a big deal about it. I try and modify things myself from the menu to get what I need, and today at Olive Garden after asking for my chicken to not be breaded and no croutons in my salad my server caught on pretty quick. She accommodated me perfectly, and didn't make it a huge deal. They literally made me a dish from scratch after all was said and done. I got their new smoked mozzarella chicken dish with chicken breast instead of breaded chicken fingers and gluten free pasta (the sauce was not gluten free so beware). I have tried other gluten free pastas and decided to just call off the pasta chase after many failed attempts, but I honestly couldn't tell the difference with olive gardens gf pasta! It tasted like it had slightly been overcooked, but considering that it was gf, I didn't even think twice! I was thrilled at how good it tasted! I will definitely order it again and try other sauces with the pasta!
The chicken and steak that were on our Mixed Grill (GF menu) were delicious. The vegetable sides were uninspired. Salads were delivered without croutons. The manager came to our table to make sure we were comfortable ordering from the GF menu and explained that our orders would be tagged as GF when they were submitted to the kitchen. He also came back to check with us once we received our food. Overall-a very good experience from a restaurant that we would not have chosen without this app.
Olive Garden's gf menu is practically a joke. You can get pasta (not tasty pasta mind you, but at least it's something) with some meat and seasonings. You can get pasta with some meat and some slightly different seasonings. You can get pasta with some meat and some sauce. Or you can get the grill - chicken, beef, or chicken and beef. While the grill is very tasty and filling, the pastas are pretty lacking, bland, and not filling. However, the grill grows old real fast. THIS location used to be really bad: the chef told me to my face that anyone who ordered gf, dairy free, peppers free (like I do), or any other alterations was bull$h!t and he would not make changes for them. He might say they were whatever-free, but they weren't. He said he thought it was all a load of crap and that all those people were faking it. Well, that didn't last long. I complained to the manager about it, and the chef was fired. Now, it's a great place to eat. The parking's a little hard to navigate, but the service is wonderful. The staff are mostly knowledgeable, and helpful. However, the food is just so blah.
The first time I ordered gluten free pasta here it was way too soft and mushy. The second time I ordered the same thing and it was barely even cooked. The staff wasn't very accommodating or knowledgable. Wouldn't recommend this place for those who are gluten free.

THIS location used to be really bad about cross contamination and bad waiter/waitress knowledge, but the manager/owner fixed that really quickly. Now, we love this location and it is the preferred location of the two close to us. However, the food is just so blah.
I am only Gluten Intolerant but I have had no problem eating here. The staff was knowledgable about the Gluten Free menu and did not even set my husbands breadsticks in front of me :) I was able to eat their salad and a pasta dish and left with a to go box of leftovers! This will be on our date night restaurant list!
Meh. Nice of them to add GF pasta option but they really need to lean to cook it properly!! I had to request they re-cook it twice because it honestly wasn't done. We're not talking al dente -- it was still hard! I suggested that the cooks should taste it for themselves and maybe practice making it a little more. I finally gave because I simply couldn't stay all night. Sad, sad excuse for GF. Definitely not at the top of my dining list.
I have tried the GF menu 3 times and each time end up sending my food back. The GF penne pasta is never done and taste terrible! I found out from the chef that the GF pasta comes in frozen and they microwave it! If you want delicious GF Italian food made from scratch go to Maggianos!
My husband and I live in Bend OR and recently visited the local Olive Garden in order to complete a gluten-free review on the facility. My husband, Dr. Jason Kremer, specializes in Celiac Disease and other gastrointestinal/autoimmune disorders and I (a celiac) specialize in providing nutritional guidance for those on a gluten-free diet. Here is our review of Olive Garden, (found on our website: http://www.bendwellnessdoctor.com/index.php?p=284199) Olive Garden - Bend OR Gluten-free menu- Was a gluten-free menu available? Yes. Service -The first time we visited this restaurant our server was very friendly and seemed quite knowledgeable. He seemed happy to cater to our gluten-free, dairy-free needs. With our second visit to Olive Garden (a couple of months later) we had a new server. Again, this server was friendly and happy to cater to our gluten-free/dairy-free needs. Knowledge - The first server seemed to have a great deal of knowledge about food sensitivities and was able to tell us about the processes that the restaurant has in place to keep the food safe. We did have questions about marinades and salad dressing and when he wasn’t positive about the ingredients he checked with the cooks. The second server that we had actually asked us what Celiac Disease was (we were, of course, happy to educate him). He also suggested a sauce to me to go with the gluten-free pasta dish that I had ordered, and then came back a few minutes later to let me know that the sauce he had recommended wasn’t actually gluten-free. When I asked what steps the chefs/cooks take to ensure that gluten doesn’t end up in our meals, the server was quite vague and assured us that they are very careful to make sure that our meals don’t contain gluten, however he wasn’t able to tell us how the chefs/cooks would be keeping our meals gluten-free. Safety of food - With our initial visit, we felt comfortable eating here and the food did appear to be gluten-free. We spoke with the manger after enjoying our meal and she further discussed the ways in which the restaurant works to ensure the safety of the food. On the second visit, I felt a little less comfortable about the safety of the food but was glad that the server double checked the ingredients of the sauce that he recommended to me prior to serving it. I do wonder how many other gluten-free customers he has offered that sauce to in the past as I believe only checked on it after we told him just how serious a gluten sensitivity/celiac disease actually is. Taste and cost/serving size - We were very happy with both the price and the amount of food that we were given. My wife even had to ask for a “to go” box which never happens with her! The second visit was a different story. My wife ordered a chicken breast with a side of veggies and received a very meager portion of each (see picture above). In addition, my serving of pasta and chicken was also quite small, and while we did get our money’s worth with the amount of salad that we both ate, we were both ready to eat again by the time we got home a little while later. Overall experience - The overall experience was definitely better with our first visit than with our second. The service was good with each visit and it does appear that the restaurant has a system in place to ensure meals are gluten-free. However, I wasn’t impressed by the education/knowledge that our second server seemed to have when it comes to gluten and I feel a more thorough staff training/education program would be beneficial. In addition, the number of choices on the g-free menu was quite limited; it would be great to have a few more options available. It was really great to see a gluten-free menu, however it didn’t offer any appetizers or soups or even display prices for that matter. Based on the inconsistency of server education, lack of gluten-free menu prices, and the fact that gluten-free pasta is made-to-order, just like the regular pasta, I still see a large concern for error in meal preparation. I give Olive Garden 3 out of 5 stars.
While Olive Garden did have a GF menu, the options were very limited, and not very interesting. I had the mixed grill, which is a combination of steak, chicken, and vegetables. The chicken was dry as dust and the vegetabels tasted completely unseasoned (in addition to being over-cooked for my liking).
GF noodles they use in pasta dishes we not that great
They have a separate GF menu. The service I have had a every Olive Garden has been great.
Olive Garden is very knowledgable about gluten free. They have a gluten free menu, that includes gluten free penne with marinara sauce and chicken entrees. Their salad is gluten free, just order it without the croutons.
GF pasta undercooked, which was horrible. Waiter came by and said "oh, your not eating much", I told him the pasta was undercooked and he said "haha, that's funny, some other lady told me that too". Then he turned and walked away. Needless to say, I will avoid dining at this restaurant.
I ordered the pasta pomodoro with chicken so I could judge for myself. Here is how they could improve it: boil it for two more minutes than you did, and stir it As You Boil. Then, it won't be partially cooked and partially under cooked. The sauce was fabulous, though. The wait staff was awesome about trying to make sure everything was perfect, though.
Finally talked my GF husband into going out to eat and it was a bad experience. GF pasta was either overlooked or undercooked but it was hard as can be. Should have listened to the other review and gone to Il forno. Chefs in the kitchen need to learn how to make GF pasta!
Very helpful staff, delicious gluten free choices
Our waiter was Fantastic, not sure if he still has his job after we were there, he tried his best to serve us a gluten and dairy free experience and went so far as to question the manager (who was sitting within ear shot of us) several questions. The manager's attitude was terrible. She acted more concerned about weather or not they would be sued for serving something, than she was about meeting the needs of a client. The meal was OK, bland as usual when there is nothing to flavor it, and I did ask why the OLIVE GARDEN only puts a couple of olives in the salad. The Order of business is only 1 Black Olive per customer at the table, no more. (that is a corporate rule, as our gracious waiter told us.) Would I dine at this Olive Garden again, the answer is NO, the managers attitude is enough to keep me away, regardless of any changes they might make to bring more gluten and dairy free items to the table.
Soooo overpriced for awful food. Pasta is never cooked properly & they don't train staff about proper gf options (i.e.-always bring salad w croutons)
Ate there Dec 16 - limited choices - squash green & yellow was the grilled vegetable served with the steak. would have been nice to have potatoes. service was poor even though we were there at the end of noontime rush. - disappointed
I would give less than one star if it was possible. The gf pasta is obviously microwaved and is beyond disgusting. The restaurant staff had no idea if their basic marinara sauce was gf, and thought that plain vanilla ice cream "surely had gluten". Horrible food, pathetic service. Don't even bother going there!!!
"gluten free" grilled salmon had no spices whatsoever and we were charged extra for it being gluten free. a little salt and pepper would have gone a long way.
They do have a separate gf menu which is great but I definitely had a reaction from my meal. Ordered their salad without croutons and their grilled salmon meal with steamed veggies. My guess is the grill was not clean from other breaded items. Tasted great but my stomach sure was in knots later on.
Olive Garden has perhaps the most limited gluten-free menu of any restaurant offering gluten-free food . . . but that's the least of the problems. The staff at this location have not been trained to know what is gluten-free. We stated three times that we were ordering from the gluten-free menu -- we even had to point out to the bartender (takeout order) where the gluten-free version was on his screen -- and we made the cardinal mistake of not checking the food before we left. Instead of the gluten-free child's chicken dinner, we got the regular child's chicken dinner with regular spaghetti served alongside the chicken. I'd ordered that, because what I really wanted was a Chicken Caesar Salad, which is not available despite the fact that the menu did include a gluten-free Caesar Salad and a gluten-free chicken breast (only for kids) dinner, which came with salad. The menu has since been changed, so I can't do that anymore. The gluten-free pasta is not particularly good. I agree with the previous post about the salmon -- did that once, never again. I do not consider this a true gluten-free option, due to the indifference of the staff and the limitations of the menu.
Staff is very helpful when it comes to GF
Had five cheese marinara shrimp with gluten free pasta (on the 2 for $25 promo) and was fantastic--didn't upset me at all, but some of the pasta was dry as it needed more sauce, so get extra as it's probably a thirsty pasta (and did seem to take a long time, as GF pasta can). No GF breadsticks which sucked, but salad without croutons was easily accomodated!
It's gf but terrible. Paying too much for a bowl of overcooked mush w sauce. Stay home and make your own pasta.
They get 2 stars due to their salad. If I could give the pasta a negative 2 stars, I would. GROSS!! Make sure your server knows why you need a salad with no croutons.
They only have 4 GF items on the dedicated menu. Waitress was not very knowledged with GF but took the time and a real interest in learning from my wife. Highly recommend.
Don't waste your time or money. Terrible gluten free menu, and the pasta is just so so
I called ahead. I'm vegan also. Penne Rigate Pomadoro- pasta was perfectly cooked. Tasty. Salad- no problem getting croutons/dressing (dairy) separate. Vinegar/oil for dressing. Staff did well. Just wish there were a few more options like bread stix! Thanks!
Gluten free menu is mixed grill, salmon or GF pens pasta with pomodoro or red sauce. No GF soups or desserts indicated. Possible high risk of cross contamination for salad if prep area has croutons next to dressing. Mixed grill wasn't worth the cost. Edible, didn't get sick but not in my top 25.
Poor knowledge if gf, food terrible and few options. I do not reccomend.
There are very few gluten free options and the GF pasta is never cooked right; it's either hard or very slimy. If you are looking for GF pasta that is actually good in the area try Il Forno
I had the GF Penne and it was more than El Dente. It was barely cooked but then kept under a heat lamp to really dry it out. Server had no idea what GF and Celiac is. He kept trying to offer me bread and brought my salad with croutons in it. If I could put no stars I would.
Nice gf penne but chicken breast was dry. Caesar salad was great!
Terrible gf pasta and only about 5 items on their gf menu.
I used to love this restaurant. And I am glad they have an allergen menu. They do have one GF penne pasta option but it just doesn't compare to the marvelous tastes in the rest of the food I can't have anymore. If they had any GF dessert options I'd give them another star. I do still love their salad (without croutons)
I'm not a fan of OG and when I was forced to eat there for my Gmas bday I decided to give their GF menu a chance. My food was tasteless, cold and my steak was over cooked. I will not return.
very limited menu
Terrible GF menu and the food isn't very good. Go to Carrabas instead.
Decent food but very limited gluten free menu.
Gluten free menu had to be dug up from the host stand and they weren't sure they had one. And then the salad I ordered was pitiful. Basically iceberg lettuce with parmesan cheese. And it was served when my husband's salad was and I had nothing else to eat while he had dinner. Needless to say I was starving the rest of our date night, but at least I didn't get sick (and I am very sensitive to cc). Not worth the money spent, but nice to know it was an option if family wants to go there. I will just also pack my own food to eat in addition.
A decent sized gluten free menu that is more than just salad and fries
High cost very limited menu
They take gf seriously here!! I have always felt safe eating here and I am very sensitive to gluten
Whaaaat? How could the other reviewer say they have one of the best GF menus?!? They have one horrible, crunchy, nasty GF pasta and one or two sauces. Probably less than 5 highly modified options. One of the worst GF dining experiences I've ever had. This company does not care about serving the GF community, that's for sure.
Bad reaction! I ordered the "GF" pasta and made sure to explain how everything needed to be prepared, and I still had a very bad reaction. The pasta was under cooked, and didn't taste very good, and obviously there was cross contamination. And everything is over priced for what it is. Do not go to this olive garden if you want an enjoyable meal.
both times I have tried to eat here I have had a reaction, so I looked online and found many complaints about them not taking gf seriously!
Have had a lot of difficulty at this particular Olive Garden. I have traveled to other states that I would give a 4 or 5 rating but at this location I would choose another restaurant. For one thing, they can NEVER seem to find their GF menu!
Got sick. For the limited things they offer I might as well stay home and made better food. Not worth it!
Have Celiac and no issues here, but not a lot of choices either.
Food was excellent as always, I do wish the menu was more extensive. Not too many choices. But excellent for what it was.
Got sick twice not going back
GF menu offers GF pasta not just 'meat and potatoes' that we're often forced to choose from. The staff should be aware of where to find a GF menu and how to accommodate things like the Mixed Grill (no potatoes and double veggies) etc.
I do not trust the staff to make gluten free products correctly. Been here with my family and have no faith the staff is trained properly or frankly cares if I get contamination or not. I've been to other Olive Garden's that are of much higher quality and service.
GF pasta here was pretty awful--strange texture and broke into bits. Felt like a heavy gut bomb in my stomach. I've always enjoyed going to Olive Garden occasionally, but it now looks like sadly, I won't be able to eat here any more. The menu choices for GF are very limited, and let's face it, if you can't have pasta here, why go? Also want to mention, GF pasta costs extra and is never included in the "never-ending pasta bowl" promotions they run. Overall, extremely disappointing and I left hungry. Skip it if need GF and go to Old Spaghetti Factory a couple blocks away--they put this place to shame and are less expensive to boot!
This was the first time I have ever returned a dish. The gluten free pasta was cooked horribly and inedible. I had the salmon and it wasn't bad.
The gluten free menu is small and the gluten free pasta SUCKS. It's like eating rocks. I go purely for the salad.
Menu is not very vast. The pasta is cooked in the microwave and is extremely hard and not tasty. Servers are not friendly and continue to discuss my being gluten free broadcasting it to everyone around. At one point after everything that came to the table for the other guests saying oh that's not gluten free. Gee you think I don't know that. Ended up in the bathroom crying. Will not be going back.
Took my daughter here last weekend once I found out they had a gluten free menu and the service was awesome! I informed them soon as we got there that my daughter need a gluten free menu & they made sure of salad had croutons on they side. The gluten-free menu is rather short and to the point but she was able to find something she wanted so I was happy. Overall, I was very pleased! The service at this location is really great and we will be dining here again.
I had their gluten free pasta, still got sick I was in pain and bloated like I was six month pregnant. I would not suggest this place
The gluten free pasta is dry and tasteless. It's really a sad excuse for a pasta dish.
Horrible pasta...bad service...and to top it off my husband had a horrible reaction
Not truly gluten free....for the most part they don't go out of their way....no gluten few sauces or breads.. They do have gf pasta but its not good and only comes one our two ways. With very little effort they could be 4 or 5 stars....these places shouldn't be allowed to advertise gluten free.
The waitstaff was very sweet, which gets them two stars. The GF selection was basically penne with pomodoro sauce or marinara sauce or salmon or steak. very slim pickin's. The penne was so overcooked that it resembled a soggy polenta with red sauce more than any sort of pasta. It had no shape at all. Really have to advise against eating here.
Gluten free pasta was chewy...would not eat it again
The gf pasta is okay, nothing special, but definitely worth getting if you are going out and need something to eat that you can guarantee is gluten free.
Yay, glad they have some GF options. But should an Italian restaurant really serve *microwaved* GF pasta?! That just grosses me out. :-( But yay for at least some GF options, if you're stuck having to eat here. I'm still giving only 1 star (for their lack of GF wonderfulness) b/c it's just depressing to eat here. I went with a large group who had pre-ordered appetizers. None of them were safe for me, and the servers were WAY too busy to even give me the time of day (plus the kitchen was taking FOREVER - so even if I would've made a big deal of it, my friends would've been done by the time I'd gotten my food).
the salad without crutons was good, but i very disapointed at my main entree. i had a pasta dish and when i got my food the noddles were very hard never going back
SUCKS!!! You're basically teased with the delicious breadsticks and everyone eating it. Can't have the soups cant really enjoy salad no croutons. Menu is VERY SMALL with no prices you get surprised with the bill. Pretty expensive!! Would've been better off cooking the meal at home such simple items.
GF pasta!!! It's not the best, but you can substitute it into almost any entree
Family friendly, good service and good food.
i dont recommend the pasta
I agree with previous reviewer- not many options, but if your family wants to go there- you can eat safe foods here. They change water and pans here. Would go to noodles though if craving good options
Tried this place twice. Didn't even make it out of the building, before I "had to go". Not giving them a third time.
We ordered three plates of GF pasta with marinara sauce. The pasta was all undercooked and I found a piece of plastic and a random spaghetti (not GF) in my food. I complained to the general manager and he offered to remake everything. He said the pasta comes in a plastic bag (that's where the piece of plastic probably came from) and they microwave it. He had no idea how the stray noodle could have gotten in there. When the order was remade the pasta was overcooked. This is my 2nd time trying an Olive Garden. I won't be back.
Not a wide variety of options on the GF menu, but happy that thru have one. Make sure to ask for no croutons on the salad.
Let's be real about olive garden....the food is good but being a very commercial chain the food is not fantastic, authentic Italian cuisine. They do have a gluten free menu (pretty much pasta and some meat) and food always tastes good!
The menu at olive garden offered GF options but very few, and I was disappointed to spend so much for a plate of pasta with very little sauce and the chicken I ordered on the side was burned. My meal looked nothing like the picture on the website of the dish and I was very unsatisfied with the taste! The waitress was friendly and the service good but the GF meal I had was not worth the steep prices. If your looking for a tasty pasta dinner be ready for dry, no cheese and no bread of any type to go with it. Such is life for us celiacs but olive garden could and should step it up a few notches!!!
Very small gluten free menu. Very good food. Way overpriced.
They have a few dedicated gluten free options. It is rather limited but it is pasta. The pasta I chose was overcooked and scraped off the bottom of the pan and tasted like mush. Not a bad pasta otherwise. I'm most worried about cross contamination here, although I did not get sick.
Not a fan :( Had the penne and tomato sauce, it was tasteless. The GF salad was the salad of the soup, salad and breadsticks deal for $9 but had no croutons and oil and balsamic dressing; it cost me $7!
Visited Bend location and was told that the Gluten Free menu could be cross-contaminated. When I received my dish, they had gluten-based pasta mixed into my GF dish. When I mentioned it to server, he shrugged his shoulders and said we shouldn't eat there in the future if that's an issue.
Before I was GF I loved Olive Garden - now I hate it. There are no options and they have no clue how to cook GF pasta. The first time I went I got the pasta and they tried to serve it al dente but it was just chewy and gluey. Sauce tasted like they just opened a can of Hunt's, no seasoning or flavor. Gave them a second shot and had the Mixed Grill all chicken. It wasn't bad, but I'd rather have something better than "not bad".
Perhaps things have improved in recent months, but I've been too afraid to go back. My first venture to try their gluten free menu started in an argument with the waitress over parmesan cheese. She kept trying to tell me cheese had gluten in it and I didn't know what I was talking about. When I told her unless it was rolled in flour, it was fine. Gluten is wheat, not dairy, she decided to ask her chef. The CHEF told her that I was wrong, and there is gluten in cheese. While I could tell I was given gluten free noodles, it's no surprise I left the restaurant glutened. Eat Olive Garden at your own risk.
My son has Celiac Diease and is 12 yrs old. He loves the Olive Garden. We have had great experiences with dining there. They didn't forget to leave off the Croutons on the salad and helped use navigate the menu with options and understanding. It made dining that much smoother for our family. Thank you!
staff is knowledgeable only to the fact they have a gf menu. croutons were in the salad when specifically asked to omit. had to send it back, when we got our new salad two minutes after my first bite I reacted and spent twenty minutes in their restroom. mild reaction. we had to leave, will not try that again.
I was pleased with the fact that they had a GG menu since I have just been ordered on the GF diet 4wks ago by my doctors. This was my first GF Resturuant I went to and ordered the Salmon. The Salmon was extremely dry and plain. There was no dressing to go on the salad (and Olive Garden dressing MAKES the salad) and no GF breadsticks. I was hoping for at list two dessert GF options but there are none at all. At list Applebee's offers ONE GF dessert. You'd think Olive Garden would since there's are so popular.
Not very many options; unlearned, unfriendly staff; food was sub par, no attempt to make it better
The menu is very limited and does not publish the prices. They have messed up my order every time I have gone and my family sits and waits for my food. They never offer an accommodation when it is wrong.
The gluten free pasta is horrible! It's not cooked right and it tastes terrible! For the price I paid I was definitely not satisfied.
Pathetic attempt at gf menu, need gf alternatives for bread sticks & kids menu...broccoli side isn't exactly kid-friendly. How about some gf green beans & other gf items that are as appealing as the regular menu?
not a big selection and not worth the money
didn't know gf. couldn't add grilled chicken on small 10.00 pasta plate. wasn't sure of gf dressings. even manager on duty was unsure. never going to Olive Garden again....I gave 50.00 gift card to stranger......not worth it
I was on vacation and tried this menu and before I left the restaurant I started feeling sick... It's tough when your the only one in the family with an allergy and you think you picked the right place. Never going back!
Salad is to die for, service is great, but beware! If you want gf rolls, don't go in. It's too teasing.
The pasta falls apart easily but the sauce was good. not many options but I still appreciate chains that have gf options
Not many GF options on the menu. Would have liked more than one small plate of salad, since my meal was so small. They should have brought a bowl of salad like they do for everyone else. Wont be going back unless they offer more GF options.
Worst gf meal I ever had! Pasta was as hard as a rock.. Salad had 2 olives red onion & no salad dressing. Chicken was dry over cooked. It was so pathetic I didn't even want to send it back. Why have a gf menu if it's awful
Before I went GF, Olive Garden was a chain I frequented. I'd never once had a bad experience - Great service always accompanied the mediocre Italian food they serve. Regardless, I was pretty excited when I heard about the GF menu they put out, & decided to check it out for lunch. Sadly, I was not impressed at all. To start, the GF menu Olive Garden offers is limited. VERY limited. I decided on the GF penne rigate pomodoro with grilled shrimp & a garden fresh salad (sans croutons, of course). The salad was, as I expected, very fresh & delicious. The pasta was a different story. I chose the pomodoro over marinara (the ONLY other GF sauce option) just for the heck of trying something different. I wasn't a fan, especially paired with the GF penne rigate that's offered. Overcooked and flavorless, not to mention topped with that awful sauce and several equally as overcooked and flavorless shrimp, the pasta stands out in my mind as some of the worst I've ever had. GF Menu Options: 1.5 Stars (limited options) Execution of GF Menu Item: 2 Stars (salad was good, but entree was much less than satisfactory) Service: 5 Stars
Quite limited gf options, and the staff seemed somewhat unfamiliar with what they even had. After I had already eaten some gf penne, the manager informed me that they didn't have any pasta without gluten. When pressed he remembered that thing they'd already brought me. That was unsettling...
Very limited menu! The waiter was great and seemed to be educated on what GF food needed to be. He was careful to make sure they didn't add anything that might cross contaminant, like croutons to the salad. My 27yr. old daughter is Gluten intolerant and tried the pasta at the olive garden in Orem Utah and said it was awful!!! doesn't look good for Olive Garden when it comes to choice and taste!
Love their food and pizza crust is unlike anything I have had since going gluten fre
Stick to the salad and the mixed grill. I've heard nothing good about their so-called gluten free pasta.
We my daughter and myself order off the menu we get the braised short ribs! Ask the manger tell them Gf they will help you!
The most boring and safe GF menu ever
Gf menu sucks
it seems with 5 soup choices that they could make at least one GLUTEN Free. I agree the pasta is not great.
Doesn't seem to work with you like other area restaurants.
Have received pink chicken twice.
Got very sick after ordering off the gluten free menu. I ordered the chicken skewers. They cross contaminate and are not educated on celiac. If you are very sensitive to gluten I would NOT recommend eating here!
Brought me out contaminated food even after speaking with a manager
I like the GF Mixed Grill
My daughter is 9 has celiac and it is a very good restaurant for her to eat at !
The pasta, and salad are the only choices..no GF soups. The pasta was yuck, and took forever..so sad!!!" :(
Gluten-free pasta sucks
Great salad but not so great GF pasta. Stick with the salad or ask to order off the children's menu and have the chicken
rubbery pasta but at least they had an option my husband did not get sick salad was okay to ask for no croutonsthey could do a lot better for gluten free options go to biaggi's much better they really cater to gluten free people best pasta best bread best pizza never had a problem there
Something I wasn't aware of but just found out you can order any of their soups gluten free! Just passing it on!
I can't believe this was the GF pasta they choose to use. I'm glad it's an option and it's just ok. I've had way better other places.
Not that impressed with the pasta sauce. The pasta itself wasn't bad for GF, but overall the menu is slim on variety.
Not too impressed with the Gluten Free choices or the food!
Eat from the GF Menu and mead me sick.
I love eating here! Their gf pastas are delicious an we always get great service! If the wait staff are not familiar with what gf means they always ask and are very happy to receive education about it..don't find that at many restaurants.
I go here for the salad only when my friends want to go. The gluten free food choices aren't worth the price you will pay. The pasta was extremely basic and definitely not worth it at all. I haven't gotten sick from the chicken cesar salad, though.
I was very impressed with their gluten free menu selections. i highly recommend the mixed grill.
Do not go there!! They have poisoned me 6 times!! I have even had the manager make " sure" my food would be gluten free!!
Noodles were too hard:-(
Very rude hostess, everytime I go in there
Amazing taste. Pasta was barely cooked though. Mixed Grill is the way to go.
It's hit or miss here. One time had a very knowledgeable waiter and a nice gf meal. The next time, we had to send the salad back twice for croutons, they almost served hubby regular pasta, and when the gf pasta came out, it wasn't thoroughly cooked. It is nice that they try to offer gf, but I'm not sure they have the hang of it yet.
Wonderful gluten free pasta options!
Avoid here-they charge a lot extra for gluten free, the gf food was made poorly, plus i had a gluten reaction (i think it was in my Ceasar salad).
I went there last night and had the gluten free penne rigate pomodoro with grilled chicken. The waitress had to look at the menu to write gluten free so I am sure she was not aware of what that meant. She did however bring the croutons on a separate plate for those at the table who could eat it. There was a large portion of pasta on the dinner plate with a few strips of chicken. It tasted good, but nothing better than I could have cooked at home. I ate about half of the meal and brought the rest home. On my way home I got terrible stomach cramps and flew down the highway to get home. I thought perhaps it may have been that I ate too much so kept the leftovers. I brought half of the leftovers (see...a lot of pasta) for lunch today and when I started to eat it after heating it up I found a spagetti noodle in it. Since they do not have GF spagetti - just the penne - I know it was not gluten free. My Mom says I should write them a letter but I don't want them to just offer a gift card to try them again as it is definitely NOT worth feeling that lousy again (yes...the leftovers have made me sick too). BE CAREFULL EATING HERE IF YOU HAVE CELIAC!
Great food and, great about gluten free!
GLUTEN FREE PASTA IS PREPACKAGED. NOT TOO GOOD.
One of the best gf menus.
You would think that a place that pushes pasta as a reason to go there, and even offers a GF pasta, would be more accommodating. We went here earlier this year; service was fairly quick, the staff was friendly, the food experience sucked. Examples: When the large bowl of salad was brought over the waitress also brought over a separate bowl of crutons for my wife; perfect. Digging in the large salad bowl though we found.....a cruton. I ordered with my main selection a side order of the GF pasta. While we we eating our meal, and the waitress was presumably working tallying up the bill, she comes to the table and apologeticly tells us that she made an error with our order; for future refrencen, it seems that OG does not offer the GF pasta as a side dish, if you want GF pasta you have to order the full size serving which costs $10. Thanks but no thanks. They didnt charge us for a full serving, but we havent been back since; the food wasnt that great, I felt it was over priced as well, and I would rather support a place that genuinely caters to GF people.
Waitstaff was excellent. They have a greater variety of pasta dishes as well as beef and chicken which are GF.
I've tried the gluten free pasta with marinara and it was awesome! I was super excited to have great Italian food again... I highly recommend! Ask for the gluten free menu. There are actually quite a few choices!
gluten free menu has nothing for kids unless you buy the steak or adult size gluten free pasta and spend 16 bucks on a meal for a 3 year old.
I had the penne pasta with marinara sauce and grilled chicken. I thought the portion size was ok. It was about $15. It came with salad. I requested no croutons. It tasted good but a few of the noodles were crusty. I was really hoping they had an alfredo sauce and gluten free breadsticks would be a dream come true. So far no expansion in that area ; (
pasta was awful.
thank you for providing options for my husband. it is often difficult to go out anywhere. doesnt matter if its aweful or wonderful...its something and no one has to do it. they are not requirded to have "gluten free" so be blessed that a restaurant chain is at least trying.
they have a hard time on regular food. i don't trust them with gf at all
Tried the penne pasta with grilled shrimp. Tasted very good and enough portion for two. Will order again.
Has about 8 options, good steak, and you can still eat their salad! very friendly and helpful!
The GF pasta is terrible. presentation is horrible and the pasta is always mushy and in pieces. Have gotten GF pasta elsewhere and it was much better.
more than surprised a chain that boasts its bread sticks and unlimited pasta bowls would have a gluten free pasta option, but amazed that they would take that costly step to open the doors to those with dietary restrictions. the pasta is wonderful, although the GF menu is a little sparse. And of course you must fight the temptation of those warm breadsticks all around you
Staff are trained about gluten free options. GF pasta is very good. They are expanding their GF menu soon!
The salad was good but the pasta was just ok.
Great GF menu . www.GlutenFreeRealtor.com
I was disappointed with the staff's lack of knowledge. I didn't feel safe at all.
Don't waste your time going.
got the mixed grill. amazing!
ok attempt but very disappointed, had to send my steak back twice because it was so undercooked. they recognized the mistake but very disappointed with menu options and flavor.
Nice effort... But left disappointed. Only one pasta options without meat. I left wishing I could have devoured their amazing breadsticks :(
Had the GF pasta & it was pretty good. Only problem was that it hadn't been cooked long enough.
I took my partner there for Valentines day. It wasn't worth it. We could have had a better meal at home.
My daughter loved the penne rigate. She had that and salad (no croutons) and didn't feel like she was missing out at all!!
gluten free menu is not worth it, one pasta dish that is sauce and gluten free pasta. all other dishes don’t have gluten to begin with. not worth it fir a gluten free option
i can make exactly what they have to offer but mine is much better!!! not worth it!!!
Great gf pasta and salad. They are always really good about it :)
The gluten free bread is amazing.
pasta is dry and sticks together. try mixed grill. great that they have a menu! not many options but good that we now have the option to eat if that's where everyone else wants to go. oh and salad with their dressing is good. croutons on the side!
