They are only good for people with sensitivity to Gluten. People with Celiac disease are not safe to eat here. My daughter had a reaction because they are not careful with regard to cross contamination.
No
Very few options. Salad is good but little else. Don't like the taste or texture of the pasta. Especially for the price.
Yes
Olive Garden could do much better.
You basically get this menu (there may be more, doubtful, but this the basic):
Salad- no croutons or cheese, yes cheese! and watch your dressing.
No bread, crackers or gluten free flat breads other Italian restaurants are now offering, got a hankering for bread, you're stuck on the gondola.
No appetizers - everything is pre-made and cannot be altered? Yes, I asked.
Only 1 gluten free pasta- sauce- add a meat- NO CHEESE! Eat up, because it falls apart when re-heated.
Why cheese?? I found out that Olive Gardens dusts their cheese in flour to keep it from sticking/clumping together.
AND No, I asked, they do not stock an alternative for the gluten free folk, not even a brick of parmesan, to grate fresh, from the local grocer.
Grated in the can? that would work!
No dessert
Our server was very informative, (bless her) sympathetic and friendly, that is why OG got a 3*. No other server, we have encountered in the past, has had her knowledge concerning gluten.
I won't be going back until Olive Garden expands their gluten free menu, it's just not worth the money.
Yes
Not a lot to choose from, but salad and pasta lets you eat with your friends. Pasta texture was a tiny bit off, but not bad. Wish they'd expand options.
Yes
My experience tonight at Olive Garden was excellent. The waitress was knowledgeable about my options. Then the manager came over and acknowledged that I had requested for gluten-free options and insured me that they would change gloves to maximize safety. Then a third person came over to serve food and he pointed out that it was gluten-free and that they changed their gloves when making my food. I don't have allergies, but I am sensitive to gluten. I don't know if it would be safe for celiac, but it was safe for me.

I have eaten here twice and both times it was great! The servers are knowledgeable and their menu has everything labeled well so you can see what you have to choose from! They also instantly knew and aknowledged no croutons on the salad as soon as I mentioned a gluten allergy. I do wish they had more sauce options than what was listed.
