Last night, Jim and I celebrated our 34th wedding anniversary at OnSwann. They really treated us special, which we enjoyed, and dinner was delicious. I have dietary restrictions, no gluten, no dairy, which can make meals difficult in restaurants. When we sat down, they had personalized Happy Anniversary gluten-free menus printed out for us. The manager, Ron, came over to pour us each a free glass of champagne, and explained that not every item on the menu was also dairy-free but the server, Skyler, would be working with us on that. Skyler was very attentive and knowledgeable about gluten-free issues. Ron returned shortly with a free outstanding gluten-free dairy-free appetizer. I commented on how unusual it was to find such gourmet gluten-free dairy-free options and Ron explained how, when he saw our reservation and comments that morning, he wanted to make sure they had some really good options for us and so he had put together this special menu. He won my heart, right there, not to mention that his restaurant provided us with a delicious meal and classy atmosphere for our celebration. I’ve attached a photo of our glute-free Anniversary menu, with marks showing the items we had. The marinated olives and pomme frites dishes went really well together. The Mushrooms dish was worth ordering every time. Jim had the grouper with risotto and it was amazing.
