The gf designations on the current menu are misleading as they’re shown on dishes with ingredients fried in a shared fryer. Only intense questioning our waitress reveal some of the things listed were not celiac safe despite being designated gf. A traditional Italian joint with bread service and the staples. The food was nothing special; I ordered the pork chop cooked to the “chef recommended” (and preferred by me) medium rare and got a medium well chop. Flavorful but disappointing. BF got the halibut after being told they were out of their seafood special of the day. and did not love it. Side portions are small. Wine and drinks were good, and at least the waitress was knowledgeable if questioned. Still, she knew things she didn’t volunteer and would have allowed me to order things with gluten cc if not asked in depth. I’d recommend passing on this place for something that’s a better dining experience regardless of the gluten factor.

Move over, Carlyle. This is hands down the finest restaurant in Shirlington. The menu had many GF options, and the owner went out if his way to let me know that many items could be modified. He also personally checked and rechecked with the chefs that the meal was completely GF (as had the waitress). I didn't ask for this level of scrutinty, but I sure did appreciate it!

Everything was phenomenal - food, atmosphere, service.

They have a nice selection of GF desserts, including AN AMAZINGLY SCRUMPTIOUS flourless CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE. I can't wait to go back!

Dinner for two, with two drinks, two appetizers, two entrees and one shared dessert was $88 before tip. Definitely a special occasion place, but a really good price for all that we got. I would have paid $50 for the souffle alone! 😊
