We felt confident after reading reviews on this restaurant. However, we found the staff jokey and not very knowledgeable. They have a gf menu and we ordered off it, talking at length with the kind waiter. I discovered a crouton in the ceaser salad with a mouthful of it chewed in my mouth. After spitting it out, rinsing my mouth, and confirming all our food needed to be gf, we ate. The food was absolutely delicious and flavourful. And we left with cautious optimism. And then, I did not get sick at all! This experience reminded us that we cannot be confident anywhere. We always have to remind and restate that our food (every dish) has to be prepared and served gluten free. Overall, good experience (just a little scary). Long story short- Outback Steakhouse is great place to eat gf. And, you have to stress what gf is and remind staff to attach “severe allergy” to the order going into the kitchen. Everytime and every restaurant!

When trying to find a safe location in this area, I asked about kitchen practices. They have a second grill for allergies. The owner or manager (I can’t exactly remember) has a family member who also has Celiac Disease so they were trying to educate their staff about Celiac Disease.

The server and manager were great! I was well taken care of and had plenty of options. I ordered the Alice Springs Chicken, mashed potatoes, and side salad with no croutons. Everything was prepared well and I had no issues.
I was very impressed with the manager! I told our server that I am gluten free when I ordered. The manager came to our table to let us know that the kitchen staff would change gloves, aprons, and wipe down everything before preparing my food. His daughter has celiac, so he understands! We had a fantastic experience at this Outback.

A very extensive gluten free menu with a lot of great choices. I enjoyed my meal and was very delighted to see a gluten free dessert. I would recommend trying it. At least walk in and look at the menu.

Long story short, very rude host to start bad experience with, then after being seated I was told they discontinued the gluten free menu a week ago and the waiter told me that he needed to know if we were staying or leaving so we would not be wasting his time. The whole experience was terrible. I went out of my way to go to this Outback because I thought they had the GF menu. And really, I could have got past that, it was the rudeness of both the host and the waiter. But, if you are looking for the GF menu, don't bother..I wouldn't want you to be wasting their employee's precious time.

Outback in Charleston changed owners and the new owner has a child with celiac, so he understands and takes gluten free very seriously. We have had several delicious meals here! Would highly recommend!
Got immediately sick after eating here. I haven't had any success eating out since I was diagnosed with celiac disease. I guess its too risky when your own two hands aren't preparing the food. I'm sure kitchen staff aren't fully aware of cross contamination.
My company wanted to order us a holiday lunch. We order with outback. My food was marked gluten free and put in its own bag. It was a great experience.

I went there for dinner with my boyfriend and explained to our server that i had celiac disease. He came back with a gluten free menu with a variety of options, i felt so comfortable eating there and my dinner was amazing! he explained to me that they take it very seriously and that he will explain to the cooks and write an extra note. It was an 100/10 experience for me.

I was on a trip to Splash Lagoon with family and was very hesitant to eat here as I get sick at one closest to where I live. I ate here with no issues! I got the wedge salad and loaded baked potato. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful!

This place was awful from our walk in to our overall experience! First thing when we got there the hostess told us that they only had one table available by the bar, but when I looked around only a few tables were occupied and mostly by the bar. She went on to instruct us that all the other tables were dirty!! My husband did not want to create a scene so we sat down and decided to order simple and had burgers mine with no bun. I did not get sick from the food or at least not yet but I will never return to this restaurant!! Very sad that the manager didn’t even try or get someone to clean off all those tables including wait staff!
