I have gone here for years and they have been one of the few places I have never gotten sick at from gluten contamination! The service is always wonderful and they are always careful with my food and it ends up tasting great! We will definitely keep returning.
This location has dedicated GF fryers for fries. Not all Outback locations have this. Staff are fairly knowledgeable, but it's good to ask and verify. Some dressings are home made and are not safe. Double check when asking.
I am dairy and gluten free. went with family and ordered off gluten free menu. There must have been cross contamination because I was sick the next day
Great attention to ensuring there was no gluten exposure or cross-contamination at all. Food was great. Service is always spot on at this location.
Of the 3 entrees that we ordered, only one came out correct. I got the grilled chicken cobb which came out incorrect. When I finally got a new one, it was only very pale lettuce, a few tomatoes and about 4 small strips of chicken (about half a breast.) Something was contaminated because I was broken out within a few minutes of beginning to eat. They did comp our meal but it wasn't worth it. I could have had a much better salad from Wendy's for a fraction of the price.
Use the words "gluten allergy" and they will bend over backwards to make sure you are taken care of! I have celiac and have eaten here many times and never been sick from it. They are happy to re-make dishes, allow substitutions, and just generally make your meal enjoyable. My favorite thing is the mushroom marsala sauce that you can add to your meat, because it is safe and also delicious! You can't have any of the appetizers, which is sad because I love me some chili-fries, but you can get any of the salads on the GF menu instead. Service can be a tiny bit slow sometimes, but I have only ever been with a large party and that inevitably takes a little longer, so they still get 5 stars in my book.
I've eaten at this location many times and never had a problem. I normally get Alice's chicken which is very good. The last time I got the filet and lobster tail. Both were delicious but the lobster tail was the smallest one I had ever seen. The chocolate thunder from down under is also great!
Had the hamburger without the bun. Very tasty. Couldn't have the fries, sadly. Had a Ceasar side salad instead. I found a crouton it. Not good. Waitress apologized and replaced it. Not good for those of us highly sensitively. Delicious food though. Just be aware.
I don't understand how a plate of steamed vegetables ordered without butter can cause issues, but it did, twice. After our second visit where there was a reaction after eating here we have to write this place off as not gluten friendly. Both times we specified no gluten and only water was ordered so I don't know how they could mess this order up, but the proof was 2 rough nights.
They have a gluten free menu with many options, but keep in mind that it's a chain restaurant so it's really important to talk to your waitress about cross contamination.
Best chain restaurant for Gluten free by far! Staff and management are wonderful!
Don't listen to GFJohnny!! He must not know what to expect from a steakhouse chain which had wonderful food btw. This outback was well versed in celiac awareness. The manager came to our table immediately to speak to us about our allergy concerns. She informed us that the owners wife has celiac and he makes sure every person in the restaurant down to the hostesses takes a training course in gluten allergies. So from the moment you ask for a gluten free menu the manager is already informing the waitress and kitchen staff of your allergy. The manager let us know that all of the seasonings they use are gluten free and the kitchen staff changes gloves, pans etc for your meal as well as cooks your food in foil to prevent cross contamination. When you order gluten free food your ticket comes up with gluten allergy in large red bold font so it is not missed and the owner as well as the manager was back in the kitchen to ensure everything was properly prepared for us. She was available to answer any and all questions we had and was very informative and friendly. I highly recommend stopping here we had a wonderful meal. Everyone was very friendly, wonderful waitress, clean restaurant, great food, all around amazing celiac friendly chain restaurant. If give 10 stars if possible they go above and beyond for their customers to ensure the best possible experience.
I was very pleased with the gluten free meal I had here tonight. When I asked the waitress for a gluten free menu she promptly brought me one. I explained that I had Celiac Disease and she smiled and said she knew I would be concerned about cross contamination. With out asking, she sent the Kitchen Manager, James, out to talk to me. He answered my questions and it was obvious he was well trained in how to avoid gluten contamination. I had an excellent steak that was pan fried in a skillet on foil, an uncut baked potato with butter and sour cream on the side, and started with a salad that was made out of a new bag of ingredients. He suggested I always talk to the Kitchen Manager when I come. I will go here again😀.
Great experience at this restaurant! My husband, mother in law, and I ordered off of the gluten free menu. There were a lot of options to eat, and our waitress assured us it would be marked on our ticket and our meals would be prepared in a separate area and brought out separately. Food was great and no cross contamination issues for me!
They have menu's that highlight nut allergies, but NOTHING to say if an item is GF! The waiter was back and forth to the kitchen asking questions about ingredients. I am HIGHLY suspicious about preparation practices for celiac. These are NEW menus too... Also, no GF desserts anymore.
All the dishes were dirty. manager brought out "clean" salads that had cheese after telling them about an additional dairy allergy. I only gave one star because you can't give them no stars. Manager did not seem to care.
I must be gluten free and I love eating at this location! It is dependable and the staff is so helpful when it comes to asking questions and getting answers. The manager, Stephanie, has been helpful on many occasions by personally checking on the outcome of each part of my meal and following up with kitchen staff to be certain my food is safe to eat.
They have several gluten free options. I found the menu online. I did not see a gluten free portion on their regular menu. I was able to get a salad, steak and baked potato. I informed the waitress that it was an "allergy" and went she brought the bread she put it the farthest away from me as possible. Everything was delicious. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 just because I had to search online for a gluten free menu.
Idk why I even stopped here. From experience, it's never good and I should've used my better judgement and kept on driving. Everyone was having issues. The table next to us had to send their steak back twice, both times coming out cold and completely raw. They were told there was a new kitchen manager, and he didn't heat the grill up enough. The table across from us had all of their food brought out except their little boy's plate, and they waited a good 30 more minutes for his food. Our experience was bad from the start. We waited 10+ minutes before being greeted by a server. By that time, we knew what we wanted. I ordered off of the gluten free menu, a 6 oz sirloin medium well topped with blue cheese, a baked potato with butter only, and broccoli. When my food finally got to the table (not sure how long it was, but it was quite a while), my potato had sour cream instead of butter and my steak was completely raw. Our server apologized and said steaks had been coming out undercooked all night. She took it back to the kitchen and it came out again about 10-15 minutes later, still bleeding. I told her again it was still raw. She took the steak, leaving the potato and broccoli for me to eat. They comped the steak off, but I guess decided it coming back twice was enough because I wasn't served another. Instead, she brought us out the check. We paid, but she didn't bring back the receipt that had what we were charged for. Just the receipt to sign. I'm pretty sure they literally just took the steak off, and charged me for a side of broccoli and a baked potato. When we asked for a copy of the original receipt, no one came back out, so we just left. There was another table sat next to us, waited about 20 minutes before they just decided to leave because no one had greeted them. This place is a train wreck. The server was nice, but you could tell she was very irritated, and I don't blame her. The kitchen staff needs a total do-over. Thankfully I don't live in this area so I'll never be back. We were literally here for a total of almost 2 hours.
Stopped here while passing through traveling. I requested a gf menu and was given one. The waiter confirmed that what I ordered was indeed gf. I ordered the Victoria Portobello filet cooked med rare, but they gave me the regular filet cooked medium, leaning towards well done instead. The waiter was nice enough and got me another steak but still didn't give me the Victoria Portobello. When I alerted the waiter (so I wasn't charged the additional amount), he argued with me that I didn't order the portobello filet originally. I did, and my family heard me. I wasn't about to have him take the 2nd steak because my family was almost finished eating and I hadn't even begun. The 2nd steak was mediocre at best. I gave it 3 stars because the steak was good, not great.
