Paesanos

Paesanos 1604 used to be one of my favorite gluten free menus for fine dining in San Antonio, but as of January 2015 they don't have a gluten free menu anymore and many of my favorite items are gone! Not only that, but the last two times I've been there the waitstaff had no understanding of what gluten really is or how to identify a gluten free item. They try to be accomodating, however. You have to keep sending servers back and forth to the kitchen to ask specific questions. Argh. But, for some help, I can tell you the truffled potato chips with gorgonzola fondue are gluten free and so addictive I have to keep going back for them. The quail is also great and they have a flourless chocolate cake filled with creme anglaise and covered in hazelnut crusted ice cream.
