Very in knowledge about cross contamination. I had catch of the day with rice and coleslaw, and it was great! Didn’t get sick from it too! They said the French fries share a fryer and the home potatoes share a griddle with gluten, so decided not to get those. Would definitely recommend!

Very busy but the line moves fast. We mentioned that our son is celiac when ordering and the ticket had “gluten free - change gloves pls” marked for the kitchen. His sautéed ahi plate with rice was delicious but the fish was more overcooked than the one he had in Kihei where they asked if he wanted it medium or medium rare. The rest of us had blackened snapper plate and seafood/chicken pasta and they were all great. A great option when in Paia or on the way to/from Hana.

This little place was fantastic!! I ordered the sautéed mahi mahi with rice and it was soo good. They assured me that it was gluten free and I felt great after, so I feel good about it. The only thing I stayed away from was the fries because I think they were fried in the same fryer (I didn’t ask, I knew I wanted the rice anyways).
My family (not GF) all enjoyed it as well. Prices were reasonable, food was amazing! Would absolutely recommend

Knowledgeable staff and delicious food that came out super quickly. The Fresh Catch Plate is the safest option. The cashier knew to tell me right away that the French fries are in the same fryer as the fish and chips, so have a cross contamination risk. House potatoes were delicious - in the American South I would call them home fries. Cajun rice was not to my personal taste, but the Cajun seasoning on the fish was great.

Amazing fish, the best I’ve ever had. The Cajun Rice is delicious. Super friendly staff. They are knowledgeable regarding Celiac Disease and Gluten. Items are not listed as Gluten Free on the menu. However, many options are safe to enjoy, and the staff will point out what is Gluten Free. Kitchen staff change gloves when informed about Celiac Disease when ordering. Great atmosphere, felt completely safe eating here.

Watch out for the butter as they dip that with a brush that touches a lot of other food items. The server let us know this.
Had to put that first because the rest of this review will echo past ones. It’s an amazing spot with incredibly nice and knowledgeable staff. Just explain the severity of your allergy if you are celiac and they will use fresh pan, olive oil, etc. Rice is gf as is Cajun seasoning. The coleslaw is also gluten free. They have malt vinegar on the tables so I did ask to confirm they do not use that in the coleslaw and they do not, they use red wine vinegar. Ate here twice and didn’t get sick. Delicious and large portions! Have to go!
No peanuts in restaurant either.

This place was amazing!! The staff was super knowledgeable! I had the Cajun mahi + rice and a garden salad. I also have a dairy allergy and the fish could be cooked in olive oil, instead of butter, and the coleslaw is GF/dairy free too! The papaya and Italian salad dressing were gluten free but the Italian was the only dairy free! So quick and delicious!

Had the charbroiled mahi mahi plate with rice and potatoes. So good! A previous review had said the potatoes weren’t GF but they are according to the person I ordered from and I felt fine after. Expensive but good! The tacos are GF but the corn tortillas are made on the same surface as the flour ones so not celiac safe. My husband and kids had the mahi mahi fish sticks and chips and thought they were amazing (not GF). The line wasn’t terrible when we were there at 11:30am on a Saturday and when we drove by later around 4, there was almost no line. The magic fish sauce is GF, tastes like a Thai chili sauce, poured it over my mahi- so good!!

I got the Cajun salmon and the Cajun rice and it was delicious!! So yummy! The staff was super knowledgeable and they had a bottle of the Cajun seasoning right at the front labeled as gluten free. Would definitely recommend.

Excellent perfectly grilled Mahi and Cajun rice. Rice is gluten free, potatoes and tacos were not per a knowledgeable waitress due to using the same grill for these and other gluten items.

Food was fantastic! No gluten free labels but our waiter was super helpful and knew what would be safe. She added very gluten allergic to our order so kitchen staff new about cross contamination. Felt safe about eating here! Also really good kombucha choices, for those underage ;)

This restaurant is not Celiac friendly. They told my daughter that they could make the fresh fish in its own pan and sauté it in a butter and lemon sauce so that she would not get sick. I just happened to go back to the order counter to ask a question when I saw the cook tossing fettuccine with tongs and then flip my daughters fish. That is cross contamination. They do not realize that Celiac is is much more than gluten intolerance. My daughter gets sick within 15-30 minutes after eating something that has been cross contaminated. When I brought it up to the person taking orders she let the cook know. The cook was not happy. I apologized to him about having to make the fish again and tried to explain how sick my daughter gets when she eats something that has been cross contaminated. Instead of being gracious he just looked at me and then looked away. I thought it was very rude. We used to go there every time we were in a Maui. Never again.

Fish tacos are corn and the fries are no good but the rice and potatoes are ok however my wife isn’t celiac just pretty sensitive so cross contamination isn’t always a factor (ref potatoes more than the rice). Food is excellent tho, fish tacos are amazing we went twice on our trip).
They offer any of their fresh fish cooked in its own pan to ensure no cross contamination. The fish was excellent!
Yes
Great choice for fresh fish. Husband chose grilled Mahi which was phenomenal and I chose Oprah, which I found out from a local it’s a big fish (really big) and very meaty. Had quite a few gluten free menu choices.

This restaurant is not celiac safe. We had a long conversation with the employees, everything is cooked on the same grill, no foil option. If you’re not celiac they may be able to accommodate, but celiacs should not try it.

Ate here twice with superb results, mahi taco plate with slaw and home fries. Fantastic!!!

Didn’t care for their interpretation of fish tacos and I eat fish tacos almost every day when in Maui.
I said I have Celiac disease, so consider it an allergy and she said that I could eat there as long as I'm ok with cross contamination. Um, ok. I think that was a CYA comment. Grilled Mahi was amazing and rice and potatoes were yummy. My son got fish and chips and they were burned. We complained, they apologized. we watched others get served burned fried fish. yuck.

Friendly staff. Good food. Worth a visit!
charbroiled fish tacos with coleslaw & Cajun rice, excellent flavor!
Ate here after visiting the creator. Very helpful. Food was great. In a nice little shopping area that you walk around after having a dinner. I don't eat fish but am GF and felt as if I had enough of a selection that wasn't fish based.
Yes
Delicious grilled fish and dirty style rice. Cost about $20ish, but got a good size serving of fish. Couldn't guarantee against cross contamination when warming up tortillas for fish tacos so passed on those. Big portions. The rest of the family ate non gluten free and loved it too.
Fish tacos are gluten free, and were delicious! No gluten free menu, but the staff knows which items are gluten free.
