Palomino Smokehouse

Palomino is classic Calgary, enjoyed catching the vibes on my visit. The beef brisket was delicious but I found the smoked chicken quite dry. The sauces were great though - all GF and housemade. Heads up that the fryer is not celiac friendly. Server was knowledgable is knowing what's what.

After a long day of travel, we ordered take out from here. The bartender who took our order was kind and helpful and the service was nice. Unfortunately, we did not enjoy our meals that much. Everything we ordered was gluten free, but nothing was labeled. The beef was really fatty, turkey was bland, mashed potatoes were stringy and still had inedible bits of the skin (the end part of the sweet potato.) I’m fairly sensitive and ended up getting mildly glutened.

The Pal is AMAZING. All of their smoked meats are GF and all of their house BBQ sauces are as well. They offer GF buns and their menu is labeled. The servers are all quite knowledgeable as well! Love eating here.
