Hadn’t been here for a few years and they really stepped up their gf game! Great drinks and were able to bring out gf chips for the guac and made my chicken tings tacos on a separate griddle. A different waiter carried out my food and confirmed it was gluten free. Outdoor seating is first come first serve.

Had the tacos. They made accommodations for my celiac, but although the food was tasty, my date and I both didn't feel great afterwards. I'm celiac, he's not, so I suspect not a glutening. Seems decently safe for celiacs, but wouldn't recommend.

Chips are gf, they assured me no cross contamination. Had tacos and they were delicious! The servers seemed pretty green to celiac but they also don’t have gf items marked on the menu... could be improved on that end, but I was really happy with the experience otherwise and the food is tasty!

I’ve mostly had great experiences but one time they gave me the wrong tortillas. I knew as soon as I put it in my mouth it wasn’t corn, it was sent back and they apologized and gave me the corn tortillas

I had eaten at a different Papagayo location a few times without issue. Generally quite accommodating. Went here last night and ordered off the GF menu. Waiter asked if my allergy was “severe,” to which I said yes. He then said “so you know, cross contamination in our kitchen is very severe.” I asked if the kitchen was able to prepare my meal in a safe way. He stated his concerns with the cross contamination again and then left to get the manager. The manager stated they could make it safely with slight modifications. I didn’t get sick, though I probably won’t be rushing to go back. I appreciated the waiter’s honesty and willingness to help but I was not expecting that sort of response based on previous reviews.
Food was good and they had a dedicated gf menu. Nothing super special, but I felt safe!

They have a dedicated gluten-free menu and the staff is well trained and super flexible/accommodating. They even offered gluten-free chips and explained that they used a shared fryer (the chips were extra cost and from a bag that they open right at your table). Just the peace of mind of knowing I was eating somewhere safe was worth more than the price of a bag of chips!
