Papalani Gelato

Shop has a sign saying there have gluten free options but when I asked the person in the counter she said that she "believed" they did not have any, later when pressed about the sign the person said that had no idea. It is posible they have options but I did not wanted to risk it based in their lack of knowledge

The regular flavors had waffle cones scattered throughout the display case, and employee said I’d know more about what contained gluten than them.

Dairy free case didn’t have the waffle cones inside so I went with that. Flavors were okay, but not great

This lovely shop had so many flavor options for dairy and gluten free, separate from their dairy choices - the most I have ever seen at a shop not specifically for vegans - that I had to get the Papalani Special, which is 6 half scoops. I must say, the half scoops were very generous and I loved every flavor! These Sorbettos were extremely smooth and I could really taste the freshness and purity of every fruit. Got to love Hawaii and bountiful fruits available! Hard to choose favorites, but the Pineapple, Lemon, Dark Chocolate, Strawberries Guava, and Lilikoi all stood out. The service was some of the nicest I received on the island! I was greeted immediately, asked how I was doing, told of the 2 different freezer cases as separated by dairy and dairy-free, asked how I was enjoying the island along with other pleasantries. Thank you for offering so many great flavor options! I will be back for sure!

So many dairy free and gluten free choices, very yummy! They do share scoops per side and I did see the scoop used for cones. This was not a concern for may but may be for others.

has a whole dairy free case which is also gluten free but had a lot of other dairy flavors that were gluten free, i asked for a new scooper and there was a girl who was very knowledge

Gluten-free & dairy-free options that are divine! They do use separate scoops. Had the coconut & it was delicious;)

They tried... they may keep the GF flavors in their own case, but when we asked about the waffle cones and possible cross contamination we got an explanation of what a waffle cone is, and a dumb look when we tried to explain it again. Too risky to try for my little Celiac.

Almost all of their flavors are gluten free. I had one of the fruit flavors from their gluten- and dairy-free section, because those scoops are kept separate to make sure there is no chance of cross contamination. It was DELICIOUS and wonderfully celiac-safe!

Delicious. Separate serving spoons for GF gelato. Items clearly labeled but not a dedicated area for just GF tubs of gelato. Some possibility for cross contamination.
