Paradox Cafe

ParaDox is one of my two favorite breakfast places! I love their gluten free Solstice Corn Cakes with apples and walnuts with real maple syrup. And ParaDox cooks your eggs exactly as you want them.

Many items are listed gluten free. They have corn cakes, quinoa cakes, and gluten free waffles! Lots of veggie options too. Friendly staff.

The waitstaff is snarky and the food is mediocre. Ordered a waffle with earth balance. They didn't bring the earth balance out with the food, and when we asked waitstaff to bring it, she said it was going to take awhile. After my kids finished their food, I had to bring the plate to the waitstaff, ask for it to be heated, and asked for the third time for the earth balance. They microwaved the waffle and brought it out with earth balance in 30 seconds. Waffle is rubbery and bland. Won't be returning.

I go here for comfort food. Poutine. Biscuits & Gravy - the best vegan gravy I've had. Never a cross reaction & although it seems the frontline staff are ever changing, they are always knowledgeable and helpful. If they had bacon on the menu, I'd give the fifth star....
