We had lunch at the downtown location of Phoebe’s, near the capitol. We shared a GF chicken fried steak with fried potatoes and roasted asparagus. It was so delicious! The sage gravy and crispy coating were wonderful—such good comfort food. There were loads of GF options. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, too. I would definitely make a return trip!

I had brunch here twice while visiting Austin with no issue - my group of 14 people all loved it & raved about the food for weeks. The menu is marked for gf with many different options- although I don't think it had a designated fryer. I had different omelettes with potatoes which were great - let the staff know how severe/sensitive you are as they do try their best to avoid cross contamination for Celiacs.

The deep fried items are gluten free: fried chicken, chicken fried steak. And so is the gravy. Very delicious.

Had an omelette and potatoes that were to die for. Waiter said they would clean the grill before prepping my food. My stomach was dicey for a couple hours after, but that is not a typical symptom when I do get glutened, so I chalked it up to overeating. (Which I definitely did because the food was so damn good.)

This review is very overdue, but I've been going here at least once a month for years now. I always order the same omelette just because I'm boring, but I've never had an issue! Cold brew coffee is great too.

Really enjoyed the GF fried chicken! The breading is well spiced and truly a cut above anything else I’ve had of the kind.

I had the fried chicken and grits for brunch. It. Was. Delicious! I didn't have any side effects from eating here so and I have Celiacs.

The food was delicious!!! They clearly had gf items marked and told the kitchen which plates needed extra gf care. The service was great, and every dish ordered was amazing. We will be back next time we are in Austin.

Diner that offers a variety of breakfast options. The tater tot dish was delicious, however the tater tots themselves were luke warm which was a bit frustrating. The fried chicken and grits was a good dish. Yet, the grits were a bit too sweet for me.

Ended up covered in spicy maple syrup and fried chicken bits. The gluten-free fried chicken (which I got with creamy red potato quarters that had the most perfect thin crispy skin) was out of this world. Our server (Lance) was helpful, kind, and enjoyed my ecstatic enjoyment of the crispy, crunchy, yummy fried chicken. Wow!!!! Lots of other GF options on the menu and I feel confident there was no cross-contamination. My friends had (non-gf) bbq brisket benedict and carrot cake french toast, both apparently amazing. Definitely go!

OMG. Fried chicken breasts with a spicy yet excellent crust and overall taste. Had tator tots instead of the grits but my wife said the grits were very good too. Paid $2 extra for GF sausage gravy and it was great too. Good service. Very happy to have found this place and stopped in.

All the fried chicken served is GF & it’s fabulous! My child was thrilled to be able to finally get to order chicken tenders & tater tots at a restaurant. Other things we had were the fried chicken & grits + the spinach Cesar salad with fried chicken. Everything tasted really good... and felt good afterwards.

Fantastic gluten-free fried chicken! I never have any issues anytime I order it. The goat cheese grits are also great!
I know the owner has celiac so the employees have been fully trained on what to do when you tell them you have an allergy!
Large portions! Foods always incredible!

The staff assured me that everything that goes in the fryer is gluten free. The fried chicken is made with rice flour and gluten free panko bread crumbs. Also definitely get the tots - best appetizer I’ve had anywhere!
Menu has gluten free markings and there were a lot of options here!! The GF toast is usually toasted on the same equipment as the regular toast but our server told me that precautions will be taken to avoid cross contamination. The staff made me nervous, though, because of her lack of knowledge of the menu but I feel fine! The roast beef hash was delicious.

Staff was very knowledgeable and assured me that precautions would be taken to prevent cross-contamination. Fried Chicken and Bacon was great! They were very busy but managed to keep my meal safe!

Great gluten free options. Fried chicken with goat cheese grits is great!
Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Will make gluten free dishes in their own pans if asked. Dedicated fryer too. Had the migas. Mmm mmm good! :)

GF Crispy boneless fried chicken!!! Dedicated GF fryer and no upcharge since all fried chicken is GF. Much tastier than Max's, Wildwood, East Side Kings, or Hat Creek and a more enjoyable experience! All around the most impressive fried chicken in all of the Austin gluten free scene. LOVE this place! Recently added GF buns and a $2.50 happy hour during the week that can't be missed! Also offer GF shrimp & grits, crab cakes, and fried green tomatoes. Only wish they were open for dinner so I could eat here all day long.
