Food was tasty! The rice bowls and salad were celiac safe. There’s guidance on the website of what would be best for gluten intolerance and celiac. The server put an allergy alert on my order and put celiac. Staff are very knowledgeable about cross contamination and prepping food to be celiac safe. Would definitely recommend!!

Website gave incredible information about food allergies/intolerances so you knew what to ask for and were aware of what was safe ahead of time. Staff was great about communicating needs and best of all, no sickness after eating. Highly recommend.

Food smelled lovely, though it was basically impossible to get a gluten free meal, we had to leave without getting any food

The corn tortillas are made on the same press as the flour & although their breading is gluten free, the oysters are fried in the same fryer as non gluten items. Get a bowl instead of tacos and be wary of fried foods.
Tried the Main Street bowl, came back the next day and had The Ridge bowl. The staff seems to take contamination seriously and the flavor was excellent.

Amazing food! I can definitely recommend the bowl, did not get sick at all! The cashier was also knowledgeable about celiac disease and what I could and could not order! I got the Chincoteague Classic with chicken… DELICIOUS. Also check their website for more information on all diets inclu. vegan, vegetarian, gluten intolerant, ALL common allergies, etc. !!!

I was a little disappointed to find the fryer and tortilla press are gluten contaminated after seeing reviews on here and asking on a Chincoteague foodie group what night be safe. The gal at the window knew her stuff though and was quick to warn me of those things. I was able to have a carne asada taco bowl that was delicious. I'm only an hour out and suspect I have been glutened. Its not terrible yet, so likely cross contamination.

This place is great if gluten is your only dietary restriction. They take gluten-free requirements seriously; however, I have multiple restrictions including dairy and gluten. While allergens aren’t listed on the menu, the server was very kind and accommodating both times I went and assured me they could do dairy and gluten-free. I had read reviews on this app, so I knew to ask for a taco bowl because corn tortillas might have gluten cross contamination. Both days I went, they even marked my allergies on the receipt in red text for the cooks. The first time I went, I didn’t have any issues and the food was great! I felt confident so I returned the next day. However, there were small amounts of sour cream in the bowl. It looked like they used the same spoon to scoop my food and sour cream. I returned the meal and they were super kind and apologetic and offered to remake it, but I opted for the refund instead.
So, if you have dietary restrictions that extend beyond gluten, I suggest that you ask them to use fresh spoons/scoops for your bowl!

I emailed the restaurant prior to my visit and they were very detailed in their answer for what I could have. (Taco bowls only; their corn flour tortillas are made on the same press as the wheat ones. Also none of the fried tacos.)
The taco bowl was delicious and very filling. They were slammed when I got there. I do think there may have been some cross contamination because I get itchy at the slightest cc and I got - bit itchy after eating this. (I also forgot to take my allergy medication so it’s possible that’s what happened.) I did not get any belly bloating or cramping like I do when I’ve been fully glutened. I would try this restaurant again but would make a point to go during off-peak hours. The food is a bit spicy, which I enjoyed, but did trigger some acid reflux. Overall, a good experience.

Always great! Never have an issue. I tell them I'm celiac and they mark my order that way for the kitchen. They advised several years ago to or a taco bowl because they use the same press for corn and flour tortillas.

If you are an adult (or have adult tastes) and are okay with cross contamination, there are good GF options. Unfortunately there is not a lot for kids. The beans are too exotic and the guacamole is too spicy for even a relatively adventurous 8 yo with gluten sensitivity.
When I told the cashier about my gluten allergy he advised me to get the taco bowl because the corn and flour tortillas are pressed on the same press. Taco bowl was delicious and no gluten issues.
The staff here pointed me towards the bowl, since their corn and flour tortillas are made on the same press. It was delicious (I had the pork)! We ate here twice while on vacation.

Food was great. I opted for the taco bowl because they use the same press for the corn tortillas as the flour tortillas. If the risk for cross contamination was lower and they had separate presses I would have given it 5 stars!
Knowledgeable of allergies! Such an awesome place. I got the fish tacos with chips and guacamole. These were the best fish tacos I've ever had! They make their own corn tortillas and they are amazing! A must stop.

Lots of options, delicious, and unique! Homemade tortillas!
They make their corn tortillas there from scratch and they are sooo good! I had the chicken tacos and they were amazing! Be sure to go when the weather is nice or be prepared to take your food elsewhere because it's just carry out.
Can eat everything but the fried stuff! Phenomenal corn tortillas for the tacos and the street corn was delicious. Will be going back!
