Pierogi Grill

I definitely do not recommend this place for gluten-free or any allergies. There is a big note on the menu to let the server know if there are any food allergies before you order. I am gluten intolerant (not Celiac). We told the waitress I couldn’t have gluten or dairy and asked what parts of the meal we were ordering contained them (we got the kings platter which is for 3 people to share). She didn’t seem super knowledgeable but after some thought she said the only thing was the pierogis and the schnitzel. I asked for that to be served on a separate plate. Our soup came and it had noodles in it, so I couldn’t eat that. We ordered one borscht soup which came and looked creamy so I asked what was in it and she said it had sour cream in it (it didn’t mention that on the menu). So I couldn’t eat that. When the kings platter came, the pierogis were right in the middle of the platter and the waitress made a comment “oh they put the pierogis on the plate” and served it to us anyways. I took food from the edges to avoid touching the pierogis or the schnitzel. One of the items was a potato pancake which didn’t even occur to me it could have flour in it - my parents used to make them and never put flour in them, and I’ve had latkes that never use flour. Well as I was eating it I realized it felt “gluteny” - a consistency that I think could only be achieved by adding flour. The waitress never mentioned it. As we were leaving the restaurant I started to feel indigestion. Now I have a stomach ache and very gurgly indigestion. :(
