PLANTA Queen

Deliciously prepared, inventive, unusual plant-based food. This restaurant is quietly all vegan- which is usually a miss for me. However, PLANTA Queen serves inventive sushi, cold plates, noodles (can sub for gf) and more that are not using any kind of fake meat. While I am not a vegan, I like my veggies quite a bit, and I get tired of the same bowls and salads. PLANTA Queen solves this. I had a Torched and Pressed sushi and a cocktail and a juice. They use gf tamari, and the bartender seemed knowledgeable about the menu, and double checked with the kitchen a couple of times without fuss. They also have a marked gluten free menu (marked in-house in marker) but it’s for lunch. I stayed away from fried items bc of cross contamination issues. Very delicious, a lot of variety, didn’t get sick.

My experience at PLANTA queen was interesting. At first I felt very comfortable because the waitress was able to show me exactly what I could eat and could not on the menu. However the first dish came to our table (it was delicious) and I ate one piece. Unfortunately there had been a mix up with the bussers and the wrong dish had been delivered… I had eaten a dish with panko break crumbs. The waitress was incredibly apologetic and the rest of our meal was comped. I would still return because everything else was delicious, just would double and triple check that every meal is absolutely gluten free.
