I have celiac and this is my absolute favorite place to eat in town, and since we're local, I eat here a lot. Their waffles all always gluten free and are the best! I order the Southerner constantly, which is chicken and waffles with cheese and bacon. Amazing! I have never been cross contaminated here, ever! Staff and owners are always friendly as well. If you're in Simsbury they're a must try, especially their waffles!

Popovers is my boy’s favorite place for waffles. We love all the gf options. They are open for lunch and breakfast. They have gf chicken nuggets on the kids menu too.

Had half a GF morning glory muffin and had stomach cramps all day afterwards. If you have celiac stay away!!!

My Aunt stopped over with some baked goods and excitedly pulled out a separately packaged GF muffin for my son. Two hours later he was clutching his tummy and crying.

My sister who also has celiac got extraordinarily sick after eating here, which bummed us out because we’re townies and really want to support them. The waffles are awesome, but they are the only thing I trust there to be GF. They even make their own flour, which is great.

My party of 3 has gluten and dairy allergies. We were delighted with the awesome options. We had a lunch that started with a delicious Buffalo cauliflower and lightly fried Brussels sprouts. Each was awesome and accompanied by a delicious vegan sauce. For lunch we all had the Turkey club on the GF bread that is homemade at Popover. On the way out, my son absolutely crushed an amazing GF raspberry bar. I had a bite and it was mouth watering.
I recommend this place based on the knowledge and friendliness of the staff as well as the great food.

I love Popover! :) My Nima gluten sensor always comes back with a smile when I test the Emma T gluten free waffle. I’ve eaten here at least 5 times and it’s always been a positive experience. The café is so cute and the waffles are delicious.
I was very clear with them about my celiac disease and how sick I would get if served gluten. I was assured they do GF all the time. As I ate my dish it was so yummy, my husband took a bite and said it tasted too much like his (which was NOT GF). We asked the waitress and she said she actually forgot to get me a gluten free meal- after me telling her 4 timesheet serious and sick I’d get and even confirming GF when it was delivered. The manager came and said I wouldn’t have to pay for my meal... so I got a free meal and was violently ill.... 👎🏽👎🏽 Would give 0 stars if I could.

This place was amazing. Lots of GF options including waffles, toasts, sweet potato hash. Everything was delicious and the staff seemed knowledgeable. My only concern was that the food was delivered with the waitress’ hands touching plate after plate and mine was not first on line to be put down.
This place was good the first time around. Staff very knowledgeable. Went there the second time on a busier day and I kid you not, we waited 2 hours to see and eat our food. They messed up on the meal and tried apologizing and giving up baked goods as a gesture. However the baked goods were stale. Once the food came out it was better but not great. Not worth a 2 hour wait. Won’t be back. Although it is celiac friendly. The waited we had did not know all the options of bread or food selections and had to go back and ask the kitchen multiple times.

Gf chicken and waffles are yum! Their fryer is 100% gf. (Popovers are not gf but they've got gf bread and English muffins to sub)

Was sick within an hour of leaving. Food tasted great but never again.

This place is celiac heaven! All their waffle irons and friends are dedicated for GF only, and their chicken fried waffles are to die for! One of my favorite restaurants!

They have the BEST selection of gluten free treats; muffins, cookies, coffee cakes, scones, and galettes available for quick pick up. Their gluten free breakfast menu is amazing (I haven't tried their lunch or dinner menus yet). They offer waffles, eggs benedict, breakfast sandwiches, and more, all gluten free. Every single item I've tried has been delicious and even my non-gluten free friends and family love this place. Not to mention the staff is always friendly!
I usually leave Popover feeling satisfied and having a great meal, unfortunately the last time I went there I left extremely sick. I had a severe allergic reaction from what I believe were the nachos. I have gone to Popover many times without a reaction. You will probably be fine and have a delicious meal, just be careful!
Great GF options. Was told that on "busy days" they toast in a shared toaster. They order out their GF treats but do house them in the same space as their gluten filled counterparts. A great option as long as you get waitstaff that will talk you through the cross contamination risk. All their waffles are GF!!

Finally! A local place with fresh, healthy, tasty, clean food! Their GF baked goods are quite good. More importantly, their salads are excellent! My favorite thing are the fried Brussel sprouts on the dinner menu!
Love the lemon poppyseed muffins. I had to ask multiple times to check that they really are gluten-free!! While they have many gluten-free options they do use wheat flour and it's a shared kitchen.
Great waffles. Practically the whole menu is GF.

I was so thrilled to find this place but it was disappointing, both in quality and being Celiac unfriendly. I experienced really bad cross contamination. the baked goods tasted like they were five days old and I just hate paying good money for old food wrapped in plastic. it's a cute place but they have a lloonngg way to go in the GF department.

Finally a great GF place in town. Has great breakfast, lunch, and baked pastry items. Everything on the menu can be made GF and the staff is very knowledgable about Celiac's and cross-contamination. Love how they get their food from local farms and everything is so fresh. I have gone here multiple times since it has opened and have loved everything I have tried. Loved their iced coffee and smoothies too! Definitely recommend for a yummy GF lunch or if you're looking for some great tasting GF baked goods.
