Po's Rice and Spice

I am sad to have to post this review as this restaurant has great potential. I have eaten here before with no problems, however, that was not the case on this last visit. I had multiple conversations with the server regarding items that were gluten-free. I carefully ordered from the menu two items that were labeled GF. The appetizer, the scallion, pancake to share with my husband, and the sweet-and-sour chicken for my main course. The server highly recommended both options and guaranteed that both were gluten-free. He did, however, mention that the sauce that came with the scallion pancake was not gluten-free and brought me tamari sauce. Sadly one of those items, and I am guessing it was the scallion pancake, was not gluten-free. I couldn’t even make it all the way home, without having to pull over and vomit. I went on to have a very severe reaction, vomiting for hours afterwards. I called the next day and was told that both items are gluten free, over and over again. I finally asked the person on the phone to ask the kitchen what flour they use in the pancake. When he came back, he apologized and said the item apparently is NOT gluten free, never has been. According to a review, I saw on here back in April the same thing happen to someone else, and they still left it on the menu labeled as Gluten-Free. I guess I will be reaching out to the health department now. Bottom line, this is not a safe Place to eat.

Po’s is my all time favorite restaurant, especially for when I have time to dine-in. The food is fresh and phenomenal and has never left me sick.

Have ordered over the phone here many times and felt pretty safe until going to eat in person. There was an item on the menu I was surprised to see marked GF. I asked the server several times if it was and he confirmed to me that it entirely was. Later that night I did have a reaction and wasn’t sure to what. I called a week later to place an order for delivery and asked for the item, was told that item is NOT gluten free and has never been gluten free. I’m very disheartened by this experience at Po’s and hope that they improve their communication about allergies.

One of the best restaurants around! There are many gluten free options on the menu, my favorite is the salt baked shrimp. They are good about cross contamination as well.

Celiac friendly?

I have had many dinners here. I am gluten sensitive and they have several gluten free options on the menu. The waitstaff was very accommodating. The people next to us had Celiac and they found the restaurant very accommodating also.
