Not recommended for gluten free eaters. I grew up going to this place and loved it as a kid. It is right on the train tracks, next door to the Amtrak station and has the most delicious and giant glutinous cinnamon rolls you’ve ever had. You can sit in the window booths and watch the trains up close. However, years later and now being diagnosed as Celiac, it isn’t on my safe list. I wanted to take my fiancée there so he could experience it, but when I asked if there was a gluten free menu, the waitress replied with a “no”. I asked if there were any options for bread substitutes, and she responded again with “I’m sorry, no. We just aren’t up with the current times”. Not wanting to leave after waiting 30 minutes for a table, I opted for the sausage patties, fried eggs, and hash browns, which came with a side of sliced strawberries in lieu of the bread side and seemed like a safe choice. It all tasted fine, and was average breakfast fare. However, after leaving my stomach was upset for several hours and had to have an emergency bathroom trip. Not sure if it was the grease or contamination, but not willing to go back and see. If you can eat gluten, they are great… but if not… my advice: stay away!
