Review of Rajanee Thai Haleiwa

Their labeling system is dysfunctional. You have to specifically request for gluten free in advance while ordering, even if these food items are labeled on the menu with “GF”.

Most dishes labeled as “GF” on the menu are actually *default* cooked with gluten, unless specifically requested otherwise, which is completely misleading. What’s the point of labeling “GF” on a menu if the customer has to vigilantly request for it to be cooked GF?? Menu should say “can be made gluten free, upon order”. Not “GF”

Our waitress somehow didn’t catch my paranoid questioning about GF and ordered some of our foods (labeled GF) with default gluten. :(

I’m not celiac but my boyfriend is. His mom and myself ordered dishes that we thought were actually gluten free; and we were cross contaminating forks and offering him to try our dishes. This was super frustrating to discover their inept labeling system only after already eating/paying. Wait staff was not good about informing us, despite my paranoid questioning about gluten.
