The first night we ate here was great. We sat at the bar and had a very attentive sushi chef who served us creative sushi regardless of my gluten and dairy restrictions. Russell was awesome and personable. We would have rated the restaurant 5 stars after that first visit.
However, we came back tonight, a few days later and were not greeted with the same enthusiasm. When I asked for them to just make whatever was gluten and dairy free, the guy seemed annoyed, and asked us what rolls we wanted. I explained that it was easier for him to pick for us because I didn't want to pick something with gluten, especially considering that their crab was mixed with imitation krab and not gf. We ended up with a bunch of plain nigiri and avocado/fish rolls, which were fine and tasty, but not as good as the first time we came.
I am used to having simpler sushi with food allergies, but to have such a drastically different experience, I thought it was worthwhile to point that out.
If you are celiac, definitely be careful, they didn't change gloves in between making orders and one of our rolls definitely came with some accidental krab stuck to the bottom.
Nigiri seemed pretty safe and they do have gf soy sauce.
No
I have asked for gluten-free and then received items with gluten. When I asked for them to be remade I was given the same item back. When I asked to speak to the manager I was met with rudeness and inability to help solve the situation. Avoid at all costs if you have celiac!!!
This restaurant is very accommodating for gluten free. Their menu is not marked but they said they would try to make any roll gluten free. They used a clean knife and board when making my food. Very friendly staff and manager. Not a dedicated kitchen. Did have one roll come out with teriyaki sauce on it by mistake. The staff was great at remaking the roll and apologizing. Other great option for sushi, but will need work with the staff.
