Glutened at this location.

I verified with an employee that there was a gluten free kitchen with a dedicated fryer and workspace before ordering. I expressed that I am celiac and ordered from the gluten free menu with that same employee. All staff that I interacted with spoke English well.

After taking a few bites of the langos, I asked the waiter to check whether the order was gluten free and he confirmed that it was not. The staff insisted that I must have been unclear when ordering and, although I requested and received a refund, the original employee shook her head while providing it. I calmly expressed that I was about to become quite sick.

This may be a rare instance of an employee coding in the order wrong, given the other positive reviews, but it did not feel to me like celiac disease is understood or taken seriously by the staff.

Admittedly, I should have verified again that the order was gluten free prior to taking my initial bites. That was my mistake.
