I went to Rev last week. The waitress was wonderful and they do have many gluten free options as well as dairy free ranch!

WARNING: the "regular" fries are served "soft" (or limp, barely cooked, soggy) and the wait said this was normal. They did have new fries that were crispier of we wanted those. I said yes.

New fries come out and they look amazing. They also look coated with flour so I ask if they were gluten free. She checks. They are NOT. I ask if these gluten coated fries were cooked in the same fryer as everything else. They ARE. So they now have flour coated fries being cooked in the same fryer as the gluten free foods.

Just a heads up if you want to give them a try.

Our waitress was very informative and friendly about everything on their menu! I asked a lot of prep questions before I ordered to make sure I felt comfortable eating here.
Venison (deer) burger with gluten free bun and the fries had a hint of fresh rosemary which turned out to be pretty tasty!
Fried green tomatoes and fried pickles. Suggest ordering the tomatoes without the fancy sauce if one is allergic to dairy.

Amazing food but no dedicated fryer.

Owner Response

Hello,

We do not add any gluten items into our fryer. All items that go into the fryer would be gluten free. We use a gluten free breader for all of our fried items. So no we don’t have a “dedicated” fryer, as we wound need to. Hope this helps clarify.

So good! Everything can be made gf. Dedicated frier. Delicious southern food! I went to a wedding that they catered with their food truck and they made fried fish, cheese fries, collard greens, and salad. Every person at the wedding RAVED about the food and had no idea the entire meal was gf. Amazing!!

I would give this place more stars if I could! So GF friendly. Most anything they have can be made gluten free. Bells went off...”even the fried chicken” I asked. Yes!! I rarely get anything fried. Crab Cakes for the win. They use a GF breader and separate prep and fryer area. So this will be our go to on our road trip to FL. About 8 minutes off the highway in a darling town. We will be stopping on the way back.

We were surprised how many items they had that were GF. I haven’t been able to eat fried chicken or fried green tomatoes in years. They were so good and just as I remember them.

We can have 90% of the items on this menu, and they actually taste good. It’s refreshing to eat at a place that offers traditional items that are GF.

Next time we will try the fried pickles, the server told us they pickle them in house.

What a find. Thanks Rev!

It’s a cute place and we wanted it to work but after 2 visits, we will have to write it off. Must be cross contamination because both times my husband ended up sick. First time he had the gf fried chicken and I had the mushroom grits. He tried my grits and we marked it up to that. Tonight he had the burger on gf bun with fries and barely made it home before getting sick. Both times we got the gf fried pickles which tasted great. First time the service was great, second time we weren’t impressed and didn’t feel like the server cared too much.

Everything in the kitchen with exception of the regular bread/bun is gluten free. That includes the fried green tomatoes and fried pickles. I finally was able to try both and they were delicious! They do not have any gravy, so if you want to experience country fried chicken I suggest to bring some of your own ^_^ I had a venison burger cooked medium well with (udi’s) gluten free bun. I think next time I’ll have the deer cooked medium. Never had deer burgers and didn’t realized how lean it would be. There was a lot of parking but you have to pass the building then park in the parking lot behind it. Shares with the court house that’s in the center of the town.

This restaurant uses GF flour to cook everything I believe...which means my daughter can have their GF fried pickles, their fried chicken & nuggets, their burgers, and they have gf buns. We LOVE this place!!! Its a little on the pricier side, but totally worth it! you've gotta try it!
