Review

Okay so. I hesitate to write this review because I think what happened to me is unlikely to happen to other people.

I’ve been here twice. The first time I loved it. I got red curry from a specifically gluten free menu they were able to give me and it was fantastic. I didn’t have time to sit and have a drink that night but I sat at the bar and watched the bartender make cocktails and those looked incredible too.

I thought “great, love this place I’ll be back all the time.”

Went back today, it was busy, it was peak dinner hour. I ordered something different off the gluten free menu. Now, here’s where this is a little bit on me. I got lax. I didn’t give the whole celiac spiel I just said “can I get that gluten free.” I had a lot of confidence from the first time, that was dumb.

I got about 5 bites into the meal when they came over and told me that there’d been a mix up and my dish wasn’t the gf version. I think the guy saw the look of horror on my face and felt bad, so then I felt bad about him feeling bad and we all felt bad and there was nothing anyone could do about it 😅. The joys of celiac disease.

Anyway, I think this was an honest mistake and not their usual. They didn’t charge me for the food and sent me home with a for sure gf version of the dish after I said I didn’t want to eat any more dinner at that moment because I was probably about to feel ill.

So, I think I just fell victim to human error and I think there are a lot of restaurants on 14th you could go with worse odds of human error than this one. Go at a less busy time, give your whole spiel, you’ll probably have a good time.

I don’t know if I’ll go back, at least not any time soon, but if i do I’ll report back.
