They told me it was safe, but I got super ill. My sister also felt effects. I'm a Sensitive celiac.

I ordered a shrimp papusa and a zucchini papusa. Both were very tasty and I didn't get sick. The server wasn't very knowledgeable, but the manager was on top of it. After talking to the manager, I felt very confident eating there.

With no working website to check, I called to verify they were open and what the GF options were. The person who answered initially got someone on the phone who was familiar with gluten issues and was able to answer my questions. All of the papusas, the tamales and a large portion of the menu are GF. See menu in pictures.
Eating there, the food was cooked when ordered, delivered hot and delicious. The papusas were large and came with a cabbage and carrot slaw. The plantains were very hot and very sweet. The service was friendly even though they were busy. I don’t know that I would recommend it for a celiac given there is a bakery attached, but for those who aren’t as sensitive, Rincón Salvadoreño is a nice authentic, family owned restaurant.

Pupusas made with corn flour and rice flour. The staff said that wheat is only used in sweet bread.
