Update: We’ve gone 3-4 times, and wanted to love this place…but our last visit was not good, & showed us that they are not good with other allergies. I need dairy-free, and I have zero desire to Epi. They don’t take other allergies seriously enough to ensure safety.

———— First visit at this newly re-named / re-opened restaurant. We’ve been before when it was La Unica, and were pleasantly surprised to see GF items clearly marked on the new menu as Rio150! It was pretty busy for a weeknight.

The server we had was a little confused at first, but we got it figured out. There are a LOT of options that I wouldn’t normally consider (due to the risk of not being GF), which was exciting! I ended up choosing a Rio Burrito bowl for $10.99. I did adjust it to be dairy free and added guacamole in the place of the dairy - there was a charge for that substitution ($5 - maybe a little steep, but it was a good-sized amount of guacamole). The server did bring it out at first with cheese and had to have it re-made, but he was apologetic and kind about it - and they fixed it quickly.

The bowl is a large serving - enough for lunch tomorrow as well! It was delicious. The only item that was so-so was the mild salsa. It is a little bland and doesn’t have much beyond tomato in it (no onion, cilantro, or spices that we could see or taste). I mixed some of the spicy salsa into it, and that was just what it needed.

Overall, we will go back, and we look forward to it!

Pros: clearly marked menu, many options, able to substitute (at an upcharge), friendly staff Cons: staff still learning about GF & other allergies, mild salsa is a bit boring & bland

Very knowledgeable staff and the menu was clearly marked. Lots of gf options. I am a sensitive celiac and dairy free. Had chicken enchiladas with the green sauce (red sauce clearly marked with flour) and they were great! No reaction whatsoever.
