As everyone else has already said - this is an excellent, reliably safe dinner spot. Their space is small (~ 12 tables) but very cute. Servers immediately ask if you need a gf menu when you are seated. My fiancée and I shared the beef carpaccio which was amazing with the fresh truffle. We had pasta dishes and shared cheesecake for dessert. Great spot!

Heaven on earth. Fantastic food, service, and atmosphere. We had minestrone, zucchini salad, lasagna, and the pistachio cheesecake. It's as good as everyone says, and I felt completely safe. It's one of the certified celiac-safe restaurants, which is way safer than in the US. Also, every time they bring something out, they tell you it's GF, which we all know is so reassuring! They also gave us some complimentary aperitifs. They do understand English completely but they were patient with us trying to speak Italian. 🇮🇹🙏🥰

The knowledgeable staff immediately asked if I needed a gluten free menu. They spoke English well and attended to my needs. The meal was amazing and, in my opinion, the best in Florence for dinner! This place is incredible. They’re very well equiped for gluten free guests, and the food they produce is amazing. We had an entree, a main, and a dessert, which were all mind blowing. Husband and I snuck in around 7:45 before a reservation for someone else at 9. So quick dinner but delicious. Gf bread at the table and the cheese spirited was flavorful. Ich war gestern in diesem Restaurant glf essen ( habe Zöliakie) Es war einfach KÖSTLICH!!! Dort gibt es sogar selbstgemachte gf Gnocchi,Nudeln, Brot ….. . Auch gf Bier konnte ich genießen! Das Personal ist s e h r nett und kennt sich bzgl. gf sehr gut aus! Auch das Ambiente ist schön. Und die Toilettanlage ist sehr modern und sauber, was für Italien nicht immer selbstverständlich ist! AMAZING!!! I was only in Florence for a day, and we only ate at one restaurant, but this was quite possibly the best choice we could have made. they are part of the AIC and have a dedicated gf kitchen. As soon as we sat down I was asked if we needed a gf menu, and then as immediately served gf bread. basically everything on the regular menu could also be made gf so I have MANY options. I ended up having the spaghetti and omg. I also had bruscetta, panna cotta and tiramisu which where also wonderful. I personally have a nut allergy so I couldn't eat it, but my family said the pistachio cheesecake was heavenly. def a must try if in florence (plus it's right by the central leather market so we went shopping after)!

AIC restaurant, they have all celiac safe practices. When we sat down they asked if we needed gf menus or regular. It was a lovely spot to eat with amazing atmosphere (definitely recommend a reservation- you can make them on Google). They serve gf bread to start, it was good. I ordered the gnocchi, which was incredible. We’d had our fill of pasta so I ordered the chicken and grilled vegetables and they were both very good!!! All of the desserts are GF - the tiramisu can be made with gluten or without but all of the others are fully gluten free. We ate on the late side so the three most popular were sold out (something to keep in mind). This is definitely a great spot to dine in Florence!

NO WORDS!!!! This was hands down the most amazing meal we had in Florence. The wild boar pasta was beautiful and the Steak Florentine was amazing - also got the Tuscan beans and potatoes as a side which were so full of flavour. Lovely staff as well.

It was so good we went twice! The first time I had the bruschetta and then the wild boar ragu on polenta and roast vegetables with the almond biscuits for sweet. Second it was Tuscan soup (very thick can eat it with a fork,) with herb crusted salmon with Tuscan beans. I’m also dairy free so it limited my choice but it was excellent. If you only had one night in Florence, this restaurant would be high on my list of places to visit. Though only a few blocks from the touristy buzz of Piazza della Signoria, Il Desco is a romantic little restaurant on a quiet street -- more upscale than a lot of the pizza places that can cater to GF, but not at all stuffy. The high ratings for this place are well deserved -- lots and lots of options, very good quality and I felt very confident about the safety of the meal. Excellent service and ambience. A reservation probably recommended, but there did seem to be some walk-ins as well.
