Not to be missed! The best fried shrimp I’ve ever had (including pre-GF years). Their fryer is dedicated GF and the fried shrimp, fish, and fries are delicious. Everything on the menu is GF except for the kids chicken tenders. The view off the back porch is gorgeous, too.

Everything is fried in corn except for the chicken strips that have their own fryer. As soon as I mentioned celiac they knew exactly what to do.

CMe here on vacation after reading the other reviews, when I walked in and told them that I’m Celiac, they told me that I was in the right place. I had the fried shrimp basket and fries which were delish! They told me the only thing I could have was the chicken nuggets and they were fried in their own basket, so no cross contamination! Ate on the porch - beautiful view and good food! This place is a must visit!

I ate here while on vacation last week and didn’t get sick. They are amazing with not only having separate fryers but having only a corn based flour. The fried basket was so crispy and soft. Wish I ate here again before leaving because I miss it already

Incredible! Found out by accident that this might be the most celiac friendly place on the island. All the fried foods are in corn meal and so everything fried is gf - aka you can have the fries!! Even the poboys can be ordered with gf bread. Staff seemed super knowledgeable and could answer all my celiac questions. There’s tons of seating and a good view to boot. Definitely recommend!

Absolutely loved the GF food here! We got a basket that included flounder, shrimp, fried oysters and 2 side dishes. All were GF!! The fries were seasoned and delicious and my daughter (13) was able to order and enjoy her food completely GF and safe for celiac! Highly recommend this small restaurant. A hidden gem for the GF community

Definitely worth the ferry ride from Southport. They use corn flour for all their fried flounder, shrimp and oysters. GF fries too. The entire family thought the food was great—including those who do not have to eat GF.

This hidden gem is tucked away on the military rec center, and open to the public. Free parking and sunset river views only add to the amazing GLUTEN FREE fried seafood options. They have corn tortillas as well, for fresh grilled fish/shrimp tacos if fried seafood isn’t your thing. There is a gluten free bun on the menu to enjoy a New Orleans style PoBoy if you prefer. The food is amazing and definitely worth a stop!

An awesome option for fried GF seafood! They have shrimp, flounder, and oysters. According to the guy up front, it’s all breaded with corn flour and no gluten goes in the fryers. Fries are seasoned with Old Bay and safe as well. The PoBoys are offered on regular bread, but also come with a GF option. I ate the shrimp basket with fries and coleslaw - it was delicious and I’ve had no reactions (celiac).

Fantastic food! Employee told me there is no wheat flour at all in the kitchen, as all their bread is outsourced. All fried food is cornmeal battered. I had fried flounder, fried shrimp, fries, and the peas and rice salad. Went twice this week while we were on vacation at the beach.

Got the grilled shrimp tacos and rice side. Super delicious, and no reaction. Most everything was gluten free , except chicken tenders and fries! Beautiful riverfront view a nice bonus.
