Very knowledgeable staff and helpful with the menu. Have had dinner twice while in town to visit JMU (Go Dukes!). Very good food in addition to a safe feeling environment for celiacs.

Server was very knowledgeable about allergies- was able to tell me exactly what on the menu I could have GF/DF (almost everything). There is not a dedicated frier so nothing fried.

Found the food to be delicious and our server was very knowledgeable about ingredients and cross contamination.

It was a busy time and my salad arrived garnished with onion rings (fryer is not a dedicated fryer is what I was told). The staff apologized for the miscommunication and remade the entire order. I applaud that - sure beats just scraping off the incorrect garnish and re-serving the contaminated plate!

I really enjoyed our experience and will certainly return!

Our daughter is a freshman at JMU. We need restaurants that can reliably accommodate her Celiac disease and other food allergies. The staff at the Rocktown Kitchen have been excellent in understanding our limitations, pointing us toward safe menu items, applying careful allergy protocols and creating a delicious, comfortable and inviting experience.

Almost everything can be made gluten free on the menu. We got burrata with gluten free ciabatta. The staff was very knowledgeable about celiac and allergies.

Every visit to Rocktown Kitchen is incredible! Their staff is very knowledgeable and cautious about GF prep. While there is no GF menu, their staff knew offhand which items (almost all of them) were GF or could be made GF. The food is great, and being able to have an appetizer, meal, and dessert all celiac-safe is awesome since that can be hard to come by.

Had lunch on 08 September 2020. The waiter highlighted everything GF on the menu in yellow - almost all of the sandwiches could be put on a GF bun. Many salads were also GF, as was the soup of the day. Frier is NOT dedicated so they’ll offer a salad or mixed fruit as an alternative side. Just tell them it is for “real” GF reasons and they will be very diligent and careful. I’ll go back again.
